Ah, yes, from their album Prairie Home Invasion that (I'm told) pissed off pretty much everybody in the country music genre in a sort of, "Hey, you can't do that to our music!" kind of way... I recommend getting the album, by the way. Rumour has that Biafra, Mojo Nixon, and a bunch of their friends went into the studio and just started drinking, and the album emerged from there. I can't 100% vouch for that, but they collectively sound pretty shitfaced at some points.
I'm friends with someone who very well might be Jello Biafra's best friend, and he claims that Biafra's favourite country artist is Stompin' Tom Connors. It's been years since I got this querulous e-mail saying, "Biafra invited me over to listen to music the other night, and he put on these records by this weird Canadian country artist...do you know of the guy?" and I still haven't decided what to make of it. I once attempted to write to Stompin' Tom and tell him, but I never heard back.
Yeah I've been fans of Mojo and Jello separately at different points in time (still am just don't listen to them as much) and I can't believe I missed this. Although I do remember a story about Jello getting his ass kicked by some punkers at one point over something like this.
I'm definitely getting the album.
