OMFBoB!
This is a fantastic insight...
About 7 mins in:
One of the 1st few calls is with the wife, Jo. Apparently, all is not well on the marriage front! She insists some things must change when this is over... Oh this is great! He starts to say he will change, and then rethinks and says his hope is that she will change. He compares himself to George Washington fighting the British while trying to convince her that she must accept him as god made him! The jail cuts him off, and when he calls back the subject changes. Fucking prick. Has to be some of the most blatant and ignorant chauvinism I've heard in my lifetime. He's walking all over her... so impersonal, seems like he's giving one of his "seminars" when he talks to her.
!! Now he's basically trying to tell her how to hide their finances and properties from the impending judgment, she's questioning/refusing to do it.
Rich shit! Thinking about transcribing these. Going to take several runs to catch everything without one anyhow.
He's comparing the irs agents to Hitler now...
and it's over.
I'm gonna work these over a bit with audacity to amplify/normalize them... the volume is a bit up and down and it's a bit difficult to catch it all, especially the other participants in the conversations.
Common theme in all of the calls: Nomatter who's he's talking to, he continues to claim he hasn't broken any law. It's like a broken record... I totally see why the prosecution played these. Kent had the nerve to beg for leniency in front of the judge when all he's done since his conviction is deny he's done anything wrong and try to circumvent restitution by shifting his finances and properties around.
It's kind of funny, but in a sad, sad way.
I totally appreciated the judge's statement that this trial had nothing to do with religion... and although that is true, Kent has made it a mission to muddy the waters in that respect, and MAKE it about religion. That's his nature, it seems.

There is an obvious parallel one should draw between this trial and Kent's ministry: his refusal to accept ANYTHING on which he doesn't personally put his warped stamp of approval - Be it tax law or evolution.
From the "jail tapes"(like 20 times):
"Show me the law I've broken"
From his ministry:
"Show me evidence of evolution"
Even though both of the above requests can be easily and accurately shown to him, he narrows his vision and turns a blind eye and insists he's not wrong...
He refuses to acknowledge any evidence that he may be mistaken about his crazy-ass creation theories, even when faced with irrefutable facts; and the same attitude has been displayed throughout his trial and sentencing...
Fortunately, his "modus operandi" failed miserably at the jury trial...
Put simply, the man obviously has a major "renegade" streak in him... a deep-seated need to challenge authority, common sense and popular logic - and trust me, I can totally understand/empathize there, but by now it should be obvious to just about anyone with a brain that he's not exactly someone Christians or the rest of society should take seriously in respect to creationism or just about anything else.

I'd like to take this opportunity to officially challenge Kent Hovind to a debate on July 2, 2007. If Kent doesn't show up at the debate, then he forfits the challenge and must declare creationism to be dead.
I'll be at the fountain in 5 points, Columbia, SC at 9:00pm, Hovind. Be there!
Regards,
Rodney

Okay, okay, I've been shamelessly gloating about this a lot, but...
How long until Hovie admits that he has a thinking problem?
Hee hee.

I wonder what kind of martyr syndrome we're going to see.
Will the Dr. Dino masses stand up and make our lives worse?
Or will he fade away out of the public's mind and lose major ground in trying to bring evilution down?

He'll be held up by a martyr (falsely mind you, he is guilty) by the same people who chose to believe his load of crap.
