Yeah, it was awesome. Lots of fun, and now I can't wait for the Avenger's flick. I just hope Cap's origin story remains the same in the movie as in the comics.
Agreed on all counts. The little high school guy taking our tickets told mumbled, “Stay till after all the credits, dudes.” Glad he did.
Thanks for the note to stay after the credits. I'm not as deep into superhero movies as other people, but I haven't heard any really big complaints so far, so I think I'll probably go watch this one.
Downey is incredibly talented. It's a shame that he's had such a troubled history and lost several years of his career to imprisonment. As far as his acting goes, I can't think of any film in which he's been a dud.
Someone forgot to turn on the projector when I saw it on Saturday, so we missed all the previews. But I went again Sunday afternoon because I enjoyed it that much, and got to see the previews as a bonus. I hope Hulk is good. And any potential Cap movie should be made as a historical piece, set during WW2, so as to avoid any jingoistic baggage, and freeze him at the end (so they can thaw him out for Avengers). Heck, they should put in a Wolverine cameo, too.
Yeah I hope that Hulk is good, but I have my reservations. The CGI hulk I saw looked horrible and I'm not sure about the villian either.
I'm amazed by how many scientists love this movie. As a kid I loved super-heroes, but somehow Iron Man never quite caught on with me, so I was never that excited about this one...until the reviews started pouring in.

Oh yeah. I went solo to a 4:00 matinee so I was wishing the wife was there so I'd have someone to point and laugh at that preview.

Marvel Studios just announced Iron Man 2 and Thor for 2010, and "The First Avenger: Captain America" and The Avengers for 2011.
Sweet Christmas, I hope Ed Norton's Hulk is worthwhile.
