A curse for Gerbe.

I'm excited though, I hadn't heard he was upstate-NY bound; I like his skill and intensity, and he's the sort of scrappy player that Buffalo loves.

The problem is, he appears to be all of 5'5" on skates, which will probably limit his effectiveness in the NHL, especially as the league abandons their post-lockout rules in favor of the clenching, obstruction, and tie-ups that helped to kill the game in the mid-90's.

Blame Gary Bettman.

I was having a conversation with my boss, a BC man nonetheless, and he said that the phantom goal was indeed a goal. He thought that Jackson's biggest mistake was the fact that he didn't have anyone shadow Greibe all night, effectively playing a defense much like a Box and 1 in basketball or spying on an athletic, run-oriented QB in football. Apparently Jackson doesn't believe in this tactic. For any hockey guys out there, BWay or Falcron, is this a common strategy in hockey? What would you have done? PS: How did we not get this kid, he's from MEEEECHIGAN!

Well, if we missed on Gerbe, we did steal Ian Cole, a first-round caliber defenseman from ANN ARBOR, straight from Michigan's lap, so it all evens out.
