I support the ACLU because they are the resource we have when the government goes overboard. This does not mean I agree with all of their stances.
The ACLU does indeed go overboard as well. Hopefully the two can result in an acceptable balance.
I had my back-pack searched today for the first time since they started this. It took less than a minute, and the officers were extremley polite and friendly. They even complimented my choice of healthy food!
I also felt more comfortable getting on the train than I have in a long time, even before the London attacks.
I have no problem being searched in a public place. It's when they come into my private home that I have an issue.
Funny, but when I've written about my oposition to the Patriot Act, I've said that what we needed was actual security here, particulary on our subways. This backpack searching and increased police presence is exactly what I've been advocating for.
Now, if they'd just do the same thing on our boarders...

Cary, what we need to do is say THIS and start dealing with the people who are killing innocent people all over the world, Radical Muslims and the so called Moderates who stand by and let them do it.

Well, I believe they have, although perhaps not to the extent that Mr. Lindsey suggest. It could indeed help matters.
I would also add that perhaps loving Christians ought to speak up loudy to condemn the likes of Rev. Phelps. Does the fact that they haven't mean that all Christians feel the way he does?
