My grandfather smoked on and off for a while. Then he got throat cancer, which spread through the rest of his body and made him rot from the inside out. You don't have to be a chain smoker to be damaging yourself. At first we were like Dear God, let him live. After seven years of surgeries and hispital stays, we were like, Dear God, let him die.
