Good question. I get fed up with International Women's Day, because it seems to me to highlight the fact that the other 364 are men's days. But then I'm just a grumpy old feminist.
Anyway, I didn't come over here to carp, but to point you to this http://troubled-diva.com/labels/
...rednoseday.html which has been set up by UK bloggers for Comic Relief, and ask you to submit a funny post from your archives (and I know there are some). There's not much time...

are doughnuts a medium? they turn me into a large when i have too many - *snigger*
i think i'm with zinnia on IWD, it's not something i celebrate per-say, and i get annoyed about positive discrimination of any sort. and the colours thing - white = purity??? give me a break! although saying that, i did blog about it in a rambling sort of way....

Re Google Icons - do you really want to be lumped in with leprachauns (St Patrick's Day) and pumpkins (Halloween) and all the other tacky things they use? Perhaps Google are takig the high road. No, who am I kidding, it's just not that important to them.

I hang my head in shame as I had not heard of international women's day ... that is, until a guy in an Indian call centre wished me a Happy Women's Day yesterday. Made me smile.
Although I'm a day late, I'll wish you a happy International Women's Day in return. Let's celebrate our strength, our beauty, our diversity. I'll choose to do so via the medium of Green & Blacks milk chocolate :o)
