I go through phases like this, I'm sure many bloggers do. I think it pays to remind yourself that this is ultimately a hobby. It's meant to be fun and creative. There are no demands or deadlines. You're not doing it to put food on the table, you're doing it simply to express yourself and engage with others on this strange thing called the Interwebby.
Enjoy your break, relax, recharge the batteries. Cya soon. :o)
Come when you can and leave when you must. I agree with rhea too. Don't be a slave to your blog. You do it because you enjoy it. I often have periods when I get a bit tired of it, and come back a bit later refreshed. It's just part of the ebb and flow of life.

It's hard to keep blogging continuously. Unless you're a Big Name Blogger or have no expectations of anonymity (and I would know about both!), it's tough to go without a break.

Blogbreaks are essential to sanity IMHO. Glad you're not hanging up your keyboard permanently though. Have a great time in the southwest (I do hope it's sunny!); take as much time off as you need; we'll all still be here when you get back.

Its good when you realise that your blog is there to be created and shaped in your own time, rather than to be updated more regularly than Google News, however tempting it is to feel that the latter should be the case.
And, as a long-term reader, I'm very glad you'll be back. (Also, having been very short of net-time recently, a lower output from my blogroll would certainly help me out, he says selfishly...)
Remember. Glaciers are just as beautiful as cheetahs. Even more so.
Forgot to say - have a great break!
Blogging has become very 'us and them' with the usual suspects (they know who they are) disappearing further and further up their own exhaust pipes in search of a book deal. Their writing has lost its edge and for so many of them the time has come to move on and try once again for that elusive job in the glossy mag industry,that or go back to Journo college.

Don't write for anyone else. Write unselfconsciously and unashamedly for yourself.
Pretty sure you can blog and stay anonm, mine dont reveal much about me at all regarding who I am etc and you can be funny as long as remember it not to give a damn and no one is marking you at the end like some vile essay assingment!
