Mr Crosland and Mrs Williams said, back in the 60s, that they were going to model the secondary school system on US high schools. The state of A-levels is just evidence of how well they succeeded. Why the surprise; why the complaints; why the denial?
Personally, I'm praying that the New Model School Project gets off the ground so I can at least avoid a state secondary education for my children. If not then home-ed beckons.
