Gravatar Tia, or to the person who wrote the piece about Drake. I understand your disappointment regarding the constant and on going degrading of black women and black people in general we all see on BET and the videos and artist who perform in them. But what I don't understand is that how can you be so critical and then claim you are still a fan of the artist. If you really think about it, its like saying "I hope I never get Lung Cancer but I will still smoke two packs a day."

Gravatar Frank...I respect what you're saying. From what I've heard Drake's lyrics don't degrade black women or women in general.

I've heard the mixtape So Far Gone and the lyrics are clever and well delivered. There is nothing blantantly masogynistic or offensive. And I think THAT'S why I was so taken about by the video. It had nothing to do with the song and did nothing but objectify women.

I still like the song and the rest of the TRACKS on the album. But I HATE the video. I honestly feel like he sold out. I feel like he was pandering to the masses with the video. The song and the album don't offend me. The video, however, does.

Now if his album drops in October and it's a bunch of hoes and bitches tracks my opinion of him may change. But for now, I view him as a young artist who made a really bad choice.

Hope that all made sense.
