This is as ridiculous as the assemblyman in California who wants to mandate the incorporation of Fung shei into construction design. Man, oh man, I give my beloved nation about fifty more years at this rate. By the way, this story about evolution has an intersting twist. It's possible that the sponsor of the law was trying to do something to keep the teaching of evolution in schools against the wishes of some of the more conservative fundamentalists in certain parts of Georgia. Re-read the article and notice what Rep.Cox says.

I don't know, my reading of it is that she's sceptical towards evolution and wants to introduce creationism by degrees. I don't think it has any place outside of religious education lessons and even trying to present it as an 'alternative' theory to evolution in science lessons is a bad idea. Although there is not a complete theory of evolution that yet explains all aspects of our planets biology creationism is flatly contradicted by the evidence.
