Let's go comment-monkey!

Gravatar I was talking to a few people this weekend about this. I mentioned that TwoHands wanted medical information on the cards so people know if they are allergic to something - but if they have medical details on there, well, I for once know that my sexuality is on my medical record. Which brings up all sorts of other queries for me - for while I don't mind most people knowing, I don't trust the authorities, particularly the medical establishment. Interesting to know wht kind of info they will end up putting on it.

Gravatar Also - someone else mentioned that a number of other countries have had ID cards for years with no problems. But I still don't see how it will help apart from it being a proof of age card to smokers/drinkers really. I don't carry a passport and I don't have a Drivers Licence and I never get asked for ID for anything. But if I didn't have this on me, presumably I'd get fined. And what if you move? You have to send it off every year if you are a student and what if you are a traveller. Lots of unanswered questions for me...

Gravatar particularly re your michigan post - this is why i would be wary about having my sexuality on an id card etc.

Gravatar Exactly, it's a bit hard to trust Blunkett saying it won't be like that when he calls everyone who disagrees with him an 'intellectual pygmy', which as a friend pointed is not only insulting but racist too, and every time he doesn't get his way in the court he says that he'll change the law to let him do whatever he wants. Plus the fucker is homophobic too, so we can't trust him to have the best interests of the community at heart.
