Let's go comment-monkey!

Gravatar First, it is May and the ratings sweeps are upon us. That could be a motivating factor for sure. Second, it's just as likely that Nightline is doing it for political reasons.
I suppose it's also possible that they want to honor the dead soliders and remind Americans of the sacrifice that they have made.

Whatever the reason, I think that showing their names and faces is a good thing. American do not love violence. Nor do they hate violence. Most Americans fear violence. That is why violent movies and tv are so popular. It is a way to approach that which we fear in a way that can do us no harm. It's time for my fellow Americans to get a grasp on the fact that violence is real and a part of every day life for many people around the world. Showing the names and faces of fallemn soldiers is not shocking to me. It is sad, for sure. However, we need to be aware of the consequences of war and we need to understand that war means death no matter how pretty you try to make it.

Gravatar And once again, I find myself agreeing with Patrick.
