I tried to do an 'engine repair' sign like 5 times for the side of the monument, but it was unreadable or very fake looking

In any case, don't think of storylines. Mine is pretty lame, and you'll be very disappointed if you spend the 2 minutes required to think of a better one.
I work at NASA and you described my job pretty well, almost. Working at NASA is like playing baseball: hours of monotony punctuated by brief spells of near-panic. Most of the time, at least.
And by the way, I feel I should mention here that the federal deficit will not get fixed by cutting NASA's budget, ok? Don't write your congressman and bitch about the cost of our nation's great and superior space program, because it pays my bills. Oh, and it provides lots of cool technology and stuff too. Don't forget that part.
