Very thought provoking, friend. If the rest of the world could somehow see that it would be in the United States' worst interest to feed the poor, they would all jump on the feed the poor bandwagon and the starving would be fed.
Pray for the starving people of the world. Put your check in the mail (not to the environmentalists, but to Food for the Hungry or some such organization.) Do it soon, because if radical Islam succeeds in pushing us all back into the stone age, there certainly won't be as much to share. And in the some way that you (and I) think many environmental issues are bogus, many on the left think that there really is no threat from radical Islam. They believe we just need to get Osama and all our problems with terrorism will be solved.

I've seen estimates that are far higher than yours, Kevin. A high price to pay for little benefit.
I also prefer giving to being taken from. Especially when it involves theories I don't agree with and organizations I don't trust. I like le's idea though. How can we get the word out that it would be very bad for all the starving people in the world to be fed and given running water? No doubt it would hasten a resolution.
