We accept your challenge.

But do you supply rules? Are we just trying to determine who is better at faking images? Or am I allowed to make fun of you?

Re: blocked

Nope, we don't ever block anyone or delete anything except in really rare circumstances.

Last time was when someone posted a conservative pundit's home phone number in comments, so definitely don't do that sort of thing. Otherwise, flame away!

Kevin,

Reading the thread at Sadly, No, I had no idea how seriously you took the challenge.

I apologize for leaving you twisting in the wind. Although you seem to be holding your own very well.

Honestly, at the Buffet, Preston is moving to a new home and Smantix is up to his eyeballs in "real life" stuff. Me, I don't have the stomach for a flame war right now.

Sorry that the IPPs let you down.

Heh, thanks Gordon. I've got the weekend totally free, and am enjoying making fun of them. Photoshop battles are always fun, and insulting people you disagree with is icing on the cake

Disrespecting 6MB shall not be tolerated!

You shall be the IPP Karl Rove.

I sense that you have spent your time away from us in extreme agitation. Peace to you, my child. (Put down that weapon!)

Good post!

le

Howdy le! Yeah, I'm having some trouble getting over the fact that I've been abandoned by my lifelong favorite political party. With the largest majority they've had in my life, they did nothing I'm proud of, except install two good judges, one under duress.

Le, before the election, I called Rodney Alexander's office (my Congressman) and asked that he not support bills with earmarks. His spokesman patiently explained to me that Mr. Alexander HAD to earmark the money. Otherwise, some beurocrat in Washington would tell Louisiana how to spend the money he sent to our state.

When I explained that my point was not about who spent the money, but that the money should not be spent at all, it was like I was speaking another language. As if the idea made no sense at all to him. Cut spending? Surely you jest!

Nevertheless, I voted for him, but I don't think I can do so again. Too much time in DC seems to make one lose their values.

So your comment is extremely accurate. As we appear to be attempting to lose the war in Iraq, frustration grows. As aliens continue to flood across our borders and keep our poorest Americans making minimum wage, frustration grows. As drilling laws block our chances to become more energy dependent, frustration grows. And now the RNC is giving the top job to a man who thinks enforcing our laws is mean. *sigh*

Our nation is destroying itself with political correctness (ex. We can't secure our borders, because most of the people breaking in are Mexican, and that would be racist!). Republican politicians are as much to blame as the Democrats. And I have no idea how I can do my part to change things.

Thanks for the wish of peace, Le! And you are right - I for one am in need of it. There is a prayer where you ask God to teach you acceptance of things that you have no power to change. I should probably look that up, huh.

Anyway, have a great weekend! And please call the RNC on Monday!

I too have had these impulses, Blogi. But you can't abandon... to do so is to admit, succumb and guarantee defeat. We know that's what the Left is banking on and it is indeed their strategy... both for the Libs wearing Dem stripes as with the RINO's wearing ours.

I'll tell you something, my sincere friend... The kind of defeat this person will never experience is to quit the pursuit of what I believe, regardless of the tally of the day, the direction of the wind or the seeming hopelessness of those around me. I will die with my principles intact and speaking them out loud as long as my lips still move.

I want... NO! ...I expect nothing different from those who hold the same values! Where would America be if those before us had given up in the face of seemingly impossible obstacles and odds? You know history, Sir... Can you honestly say that the difficulties of sustaining truth that we face now are any larger than those of the people who lived before us?

Am I not real? Are Angel, Stouty, Benning, le, ET, Smart Lass and all the others who espouse and fight and cry out for the same exact sensibilities every, single day not real??? You KNOW damn well we are! And you are too.

Damn it, man, pull yourself together and continue your part to FIGHT! Sure, the ones we placed in office previously let us down HUGELY. But there ARE other "Blogis" and "Angels" and "Stoutys" and "Lauras" out there who would NOT, given the chance, recognition and elevation to office. We have no time to complain, but only hopefully enough to find them. And if we lose again in '08, the duty will be no different afterwards.

As I view it, our job is to be unwavering in our commitment to excellence and spreading that word. How many eyes have read your words, Kevin? How many have been impacted by your incredible pictures?

"And I have no idea how I can do my part to change things...."

"There is a prayer where you ask God to teach you acceptance of things that you have no power to change."

You are the absolute embodiment of "the power to change"!!! You can honestly allude that you feel powerless? Compared to what? Your neighbor next door who shares the same values but is too lazy to espouse them as you do? Some have, and choose to have through their efforts, more influence than others. God BLESS them for it!

You, Sir, are one of them... one of US. Pick up your "rifle", quit your understandable but defeatist whining and come fight with us. Use that share of power you wield so well. It is God's gift to you, and to all of us. YOU are a warrior for life, Sir... and we ALL need you.

*Dismissed*

Thanks for the pep talk DI. I'm certainly willing to fight alongside of everyone you mentioned in your comment. But I still feel like the Republicans we are voting for are not on the same side as us. At the bottom of things, I'm generally conservative, and only Republican as long as they are conservative as well. Do you feel like they still are?

It would be wrong to try to convince anyone that it's time to abandon the Republicans, but I'm unwilling to watch things like Mel Martinez getting the chairmanship, while I blindly support them make these terrible mistakes.

It's reached a tipping point, and the day Mel Martinez assumes this position is the day it all comes crashing down. At least in terms of my support.

I am no fan of the American Democratic party, but I am also no fan of the American Republican party. I think both parties have been selling out Americans for a long time.

I have being dying to say the republican party is corrupt on blogs whose authors are republican leaning and who comment on my blog. But I chickened out for fear of being made by them "Flame Broiled", "Toast". So thanks for saying in reference to the Republican party, "Our party is corrupt". You just made my Canadian day!!!

Hell no, most Repub's in office currently are not Conservative... not in any literal sense! They sure have proved that.

You're not supporting Martinez getting the chairmanship... that was the reason for your post. Me either. He is a cave-in and yet another move towards the Repub's becoming more liberal, rather than the Repub's giving what the real conservatives like you and the rest of us wanted and asked for. More Conservatism!

And you're not "blindly supporting" such a move either, but you and all of us may HAVE to watch them do it. We will speak out anyway, before and afterwards, if it happens.

It reached the tipping point weeks ago, Blogi... and it IS crashing down. My point was, IS, that we must continue to try to stop the complete and full crash. And if it comes completely crashing down, the duty will become to resurrect and rebuild it. Pulling yours or our support is not the way to do that. We just must be very careful to state exactly what it is that we support, and settle for nothing less.

We can't support what is causing the crash and we don't. We need to support what would stop it, or rebuild it if they flatten it.

I'm picking up the phone now to call and they will get a polite, but direct earfull. When I get all done, I'm going to tell them that Blogi sent me!

Keep the faith, my friend.

Ok, I agree with both of you then

KEVIN!!! your'e bloggin again!..lol..sheesh I jus keep checkin to see if you posted and wala!...youre still my fave blog !..lol..I agree with DI on this one hun...but hey..I cant say I blame u one iota for how ya feel!..Whats an iota anyways?

Tubby: Many of the party elected are way off the mark, for sure. Don't fear the flames, say your heart and mind. As Angel told me, wear the flames like a "badge of honor". Besides, you're right.

We just want to change all that, either their mindset or the body containing the mind. It doesn't seem like too much to ask to have the elected do what they said they would do... it's why we put them in there!

I couldn't get any real people to answer the call on ANY line, Blogi. Argggh! I called and left messages on multiple voice mail extensions along with my contact info... even offered to call an actual human being back at their chosen time and number. I'll do it again tomorrow.

Did you get to speak to something with a pulse? On Option #3?

Hey there Angel! I'm not back yet, but soon. I've finagled two iotas of time this week

DI, you make me so proud to be among conservatives. And Angel's on your side, as well as every conservative I know in the non-internet world. It's likely that I'm not the one who's right

Still, I'm for some amount of change. Does anyone want to move to Louisiana and run for Senator in 2 years? We need you. What's Rick Santorum's number?

heh

I just called. Hit 3 and got a person, told them that I called to express my displeasure with their selection of Mr Martinez, and the woman asked me to hold and sent me to a voice mailbox. I suppose this means that they're not taking the time to listen to each Mel Martinez call because they're getting so many? I certainly hope so.

DI, I agree there is a fight to be fought, and that the best way to win a fight is to actually fight. However, while we're fighting tooth-and-nail, we're discovering that our leaders have us facing the wrong direction. They're having us fighting to destroy American and conservative values.

As political corretness ruins this country, I'm secure in the belief that the pendulum will swing back the other way towards the values that all the people you mentioned hold dear. Sadly, the recent election, public opinion, and continued republican missteps, seem to indicate that the pendulum has yet to reach the zenith of its liberal swing.

It has become clear to me that Americans need to be reminded of the true nature of liberalism.

To those who argue, "The stakes are too high right now! Don't withold your vote!" I agree that the stakes are very high; and that's why I see the need that the American people recognize their folly as soon as possible. Backing RINO republicans is only going to delay the swing back to conservatism. I hate that it has to be that way; but I don't think there's any way around it.

I do, however, have faith that the American people would realize their mistake quickly in the face of another attack. Though it pains me to think of it.

I hate to say that we have to surrender to win; but I think that's what must happen to get us out of this difficult time.

Oh yeah; welcome back blogi! I wish it could have been under better circumstances.

3 cheers for Existingthing for making the call! It sounds like we have ourselves a debate going. Glad we have two years to work out the details

"Backing RINO republicans is only going to delay the swing back to conservatism. I hate that it has to be that way; but I don't think there's any way around it."

I am more or less of this same opinion. We may have to lose some to gain some. God help us.

le

This is very depressing... I revere you guys' opinions so highly. When I repeatedly hear that "we must lose some more" to be able to win, it goes against everything in my mind and heart. I have been involved in "competition" of other sorts all my life and I never have engaged in trying to win by losing. And, at the risk of sounding immodest, I have not lost much.

But I am beginning to come around to your points of view. It is very impacting to me to type that line out.

I am going to call the Repub's line for the fourth time and give them another earful. This totally sucks.

I've been a lame slacker of a blogger / blog reader lately, so I just saw this post. I totally agree with you when you say, "At the bottom of things, I'm generally conservative, and only Republican as long as they are conservative as well."

However... I don't think I can go so far as to vote independent or not vote at all in 2008 for one reason and one reason only: abortion. I know that sounds so trite, but seriously, it's one of the most important issues and until it's solved I can't in good conscience just give up. Even though the Republicans haven't done much for the pro-life crowd lately, they are still better than the Democrats and that's that. When it comes to saving innocent lives, I think it is worth it to vote for the lesser evil. At least Republicans are willing to implement limits on abortion and confirm good judges.

:/

This is also my number one issue. But most of the elected Republicans are not committed to this issue. They would compromise it in a minute to get something else. I have respect for President Bush on this issue, he kept his promise to try to get judges who are "constitutionalists," so there is some chance Roe v Wade could be overturned. However, when push came to shove, my illustrious senator (McVain) was instrumental in keeping many judges (judicial filibuster) from being voted on (the idiot gang of 14)! He is a hindrance. I will NEVER vote for him again. And I told him so. His voting record during the 107th Congress, from January 2001 through November of 2002, places him as the 6th most liberal Republican senator. Maverick Schmaverick! I want a conservative.

le

The Repubs think people should support them no matter how stupid they get because they aren't Dems.

Here's a hint. If the Repubs want my vote - ever again - they need to start acting like something besides ultra-religious Democrats. Fiscal responsibility not pork. Border security. Character in place of falling over themselves to cut and run.

Either they become someone I can vote for, or I will vote for some other group.

Not hard... seems to be beyond the understanding of the Repubs.
