Sorry to hear your mood is as bad as mine was back then, DI. It's a horrible place to be. But remember, even if the Democrats do as much damage to our nation as, say, Carter did in the 70's, it only took a couple of years of Reagan to make the nation rockin' again.
So yeah, we are headed for up to a decade of America being weak and full of shrill whiners, but we'll be back! There's no way to stop it now, so it's time to accept it, and plan for the future.
It's important to admit that this is not entirely the fault of the Democrats. Our 108th Congress bears a huge chunk of the blame. If the Republicans had acted like conservatives instead of acting like sleazy politicians, we would not be in the boat we're in today.
This is an important lesson that I hope we've all learned: Don't vote Republican. Vote conservative. Apparently, there's a huge difference between the two.
