Ms Jane Citizen, it's not that I would even consider curtailing my support for the good websites you mentioned. It's just that I've supported Charles Johnson for so long, only to find that he manipulates information as much as the MSM.
That makes me incredibly uncomfortable. Little Green Footballs comprised 20-30% of my daily intake of what was going on in the world of islamofascism. Now I'm wondering, if he was willing to lie about the Gates of Vienna, VB, or the Brussels Journal, what ELSE did he lie to me about? All of my data is in flux now. LGF really screwed me.
And Gates of Vienna ppl, you are doing a great job, and I support you, assuming you are not the white supremacists Charles Johnson is trying to make you out to be. I'm 1/16th Blackfoot Indian, for cripes sake!

This debate over VB and other European parties is far from over. Every time I think I agree with Charles, I read great counter-arguments from Gates of Vienna or other sites.
I will say this, though. DeWinter needs to get rid of that Odin's Cross and denounce Nazism and fast. And he needs to do it convincingly.
I would like it even better if he would step down and let someone with an unclouded past take the helm.

It seems that in Europe you are either on the Left or on the Right. There is no great center in which to hang your hat. The Left is hobbled by the Communist control or at the least infuence, and the Right is linked forever with the Nazis. So there's no middle ground. They have no Democrats or Republicans that usually weed out the extremes.
So if you join or support the Right as a way to fight the encroaching Muzzie horde, you will be tarred as a Nazi. And a Racist.
Charles at LGF is an ass if he believes that's what those people are. Screw him. He doesn't know what he's talking about.

First, I don't know any white supremacist guys, so I didn't even know what an 'Odin's cross' was. I thought they were talking about this, and since I used to wear one of these as a kid at the NJ shore, I felt confident that they were mistaken about it being a 'whites only' icon.
Turns out, Odin's cross, which is more of a plus sign surrounded by a circle, IS a racial purity icon. It wasn't meant to be, but that's what it's become. Much like 'gay' no longer means 'happy'. So be it. I've never owned one, and now I know I never will.
So I agree with Stogie and Angel - the guy should get rid of that bookend, and vocally renounce Nazism. But one guy isn't going to make me renounce a party, especially since they are fighting on the same side as us. Also, seeing the crazy cr*p the EU is forcing on its people, it would be inhumane NOT to support Flanders' right to self-determination.

I should mention in fairness that I wasn't banned from lgf as I thought I'd be. It's particularly strange since a few times I argued with Charles directly.
Dymphna, as you still have an open account at LGF, I find the insinuation of banning by association amusing. I am no one of importance, and my amusement is not intended to chastise... rather to ask you to temper your personalization of the issues which are currently dividing GoV, Atlas, and LGF.

I was on line during much of the discourse at LGF and I can tell you what I didn't see in the discussions there. I didn't see any commenter address the real issue - the sense of urgency to advance into a political arena in Flanders.
This did eventually come out, but only after the flame wars at LGF, not only by some LGF commenters but also by long respected blogers who would rather react and be insulted at queries and questioning the wisdom of aligning themselves with a group such as the VB at this time. It was and is disappointing.
This contention that I wasn't banned is clever.
I tried several times in the early days of this altercation to get on. I was denied access.
Now Chas has probably opened the gate again, but he could as easily close it again without notice.
I don't play those head games and I won't b drawn into them.
BTW, the Baron experienced the same situation. He could not get in to comment. He only tried once -- that was enough for him.
You have only my word to go on for this because there is no record of the dates when access was closed to me. Only Charles holds those cards and he holds them in his head.
So believe whatever it is you need to believe to keep the construct you have built. I am familiar enough with the mechanisms of scapegoating in groups that Chas' behavior doesn't have its desired effect.
This whole thing is contrived. And Charles started the contrivance going within a short time of my telling him the conference was over...someone callilng himself "Dave of Sweden" was right on it, discrediting SD.
Does ol' "Dave" post there with any frequency anymore? I mean what use would he be since Chas has dropped the accusations against SD?

I have been reading you and Baron for a long time too, and will continue to do so... I guess it's best for me to butt out of things I may not ever completely understand.
I will say though that all of you, Charles, Up Pompeii, and GoV have been very gracious in your responsiveness to regular people like me.
I hope time will heal the rift, because I am an avid reader of the topic and I respect greatly all of you. I very much miss Fjordman.
As I am only a regular reader, cleverness or the lack of it evade me.
If I was one to be easily offended, "believe whatever it is you (I) need to believe to keep the construct you (I) have built." would do it. But I do not seek offense as much as I'd prefer to see the unification of the anti/counter Jihad movement to prevail in a cohesive if not unified manner.
I think there will be no winners with regard to this issue, but that it was necessary to address before someone or some group less than favorable to anti/counter Jihad let fly with the associations bringing us all down in the public eye.
On the net, accusations of "Nazi" and "Facist" are known out of hand as just hot buttons... but the average American is still put off and made uncomfortable - to the point of distancing themselves from the accusation.
I have received and read the transcripts from the conference and will look forward to next year, it is my personal hope that there will be a second conference and that you and Baron can make a difference.

You are gracious, considering my impatient tone. Unfortunately, you got the brunt of a long list of people calling me a liar. Believe me, people do like to email us about this stuff. Good thing I don't tend to triangulate or I'd be real attached to this issue.
I'm not, but you *have* provided a release valve for the sense of treachery I felt when I understood the game being played.
I couldn't figure out what I'd lied about, but in the end decided it didn't matter. The time for changing minds occurred even before the Conference was finished, though I didn't know that.
Eventually, someone emailed me a taunt from one of the regular people at lgf saying that my access wasn't blocked (how do they know these things about other commenters?) and I was being cowardly not to come on and speak my piece.
Then I understood the context of "liar."
But I'm too busy and otherwise occupied to get on the comment thread at lgf. And out of loyalty to Atlas and Fjordman, I would not go there anyway -- even if my only occupation was reading bodice rippers and eating bonbons whilst sitting languidly on my chaise longue as the downstairs maid cleaned up and the cook prepared dinner. (for other readers: please, this is a *joke*. I have neither maid nor cook. I don't eat bonbons and no room in my house is big enough to allow for a chaise longue. Drat)
Thanks for llstening. I, too, look forward to reading about the next conference. I am not in the leadership of CVF. My health precludes me from being a predictable helper. So I just do secretarial work as necessary.
And, truthfully, I follow the Philip Larkin philosophy about travel. When asked why he didn't travel more, he said he'd go to China today if he could be sure he'd be home in time for supper. I knew I'd found my soulmate...(next to the Baron,that is, who can actually quote some of Mr. Larkin's work to me. The advantage of a British education).
I study Larkin's poems because they are so deceptively simple. It is my belief that if we don't return to simple language soon, we will chokke on the excess of words like "xenophobia" or "jingoistic", etc.
And I am grateful that there is this neutral territory in which to have an exchange.
