3) virally

For getting traffic from search engines one need to optimize each page of a site /blog.

For getting traffic from reffering sites-
1)comment on other blogs and forums.Infusing useful ideas in comments can ring in some traffic.
2)be active in social bookmarking sites.
3)Write and submit articles in article directories.
4)submit blog/site to web directories.


For getting traffic virally-
1)produce useful content
2)Place a "tell a friend" link on bottom of each page.
3)Giveaway gifts and incentives by running competitions.
