I'll sorely miss our Goil-friend. His was a consistent vision, one that I personally liked and could live with. His vulnerability was endearing, and I perked up every time he showed up in front of the camera.

Three talented designers remain. But Goil holds a special place in my heart.

Goil, you're just the most precious thing. It's not easy to fall in love with reality show competitors, but you were consistently brilliant, innovative, entertaining, and adorable. I was counting on you to go all the way in this, because you clearly have what it takes. Can't wait to see what's next for you - I'm sure it will be fabulous and that, without three-day time constraints, your work is going to be realized for all its innovation and style. Goil - we will miss you!!!! You have done some wonderful work, you have really original ideas and I know you will be successful in whatever you choose to do. I think TD was just not organized enough to allow someone who designs in your style to shine. They are the mess - not you!!!

Goil, as in gargoyle, congrats on some beautiful rooms. You always put it out there, and created some beautiful spaces. Be proud that you went out with such a beautiful room. And your architectural creativity is so wonderful. Keep it up! And I want the chopped-leg chairs.

Dear Goil -

1) Love your last room (even if you didn't) - warm, inviting, comfy, sexy, ORIGINAL. (For starters, did anyone else notice that Goil's bed was the ONLY ONE at a different angle in the PDC podroom for the challenge?)

2) Stress management can be learned. Originality - which you have in abundance - cannot.

3) You have degrees from Carnegie Mellon & Yale, a gig with Robert Stern, and an unlimited future. Personally, I am going to start swooning and fawning now 'cause I hate waiting in line!

Goil was one of the brightest lights on Top Design. I'm an interior designer myself, of twenty-some years, and Goil was the one person who really showed me something new every time out. Innovative, an out-of-the-box thinker, creative and humble. His wonderful, whimsical 1/2 chairs in the design student room challenge were, for me, the best thing on the show to date. I really felt. and hoped, that Goil would go all the way here. So very sorry to see you go, Goil! All success to you!
