Down in the lower right hand side ~ the
fireplace room on the cover!

Gravatar Yes - that looks like Carissa's. And Andrea's is next to it with the split (two) windows and furniture that is more taupe or beige. Wonder which is Matt's.

Gravatar The first and third links seem to be the same (the Bravo preview).

Gravatar Yup - the fireplace room is Carisa's - we see her buying the big red carpet in the Yahoo preview.

I'm thinking a Carisa vs. Matt finale. Sorry Andrea - I love you!

Gravatar You can see the third preview on youtube if you search for top design episode 9. Confirms that the fireplace room is Carisa's. I don't know why, but at this point, for some reason, I find her dramatic antics a little bit charming - it's so very Carisa - you can't help but roll your eyes at it, but be entertained nonetheless, and just wait to see what she'll whip up next. LOVED her hotel room!

Although I understand how people could think the opposite.

Gravatar Wow. The last two winners are in the Bravo credits...

Gravatar That sentence doesn't make a lot of sense!
Let me rephrase that.
Andrea's dining room and Matt's water room
are in the opening credits, all together with
the fireplace room.
Are they being extra sneaky and throwing the
fireplace room in there as a red herring??

Gravatar The fireplace room is definitely Carisa's. Notice how in the one preview she's picking out pillows - the ones that are on the sofa in the fireplace room...? Yep.

I say it's Carisa and Andrea in the final, Carisa winning this week. Andrea's got the hometown shopping advantage..... and Carisa is in her element with all the mod stuff.

Gravatar I somhow don't think Bravo would be that sneaky. While they've been known to throw in some "twists" here and there, they've also been known to unexpectedly produce spoilers. For example, after the first episode, they showed a preview of "on this season of top design" where there were nine designers in the shot, not including John. This preview was shown the week before John was eliminated.

Call me skeptical, but I'm just not buying the whole "red herring" thing... For better or for worse, I'd bet Carisa's in the finale.

Gravatar I am going for the Elle cover with lime green in it for Matt's. Top leftish. Not a good sign seeing a taupe swatch in Andrea's hand.
The pillows Carisa bought are in the fireplace room. But I have been wrong before.
I enjoy this "speculation"
I feel like Nancy Drew "The Case of the Pillow Case"

Gravatar Hi everyone. I fixed the links. Now they point to three different previews. Sorry 'bout that!

Gravatar You are all so observant!

Yep, the fireplace room has to be Carissa’s—the scale and placement of the faux fireplace and “brick-looking” wall behind it, plus the red rug and her self-proclaimed love of pillows shown in the previews. Carissa also seems to be looking for an L-shaped sofa on her shopping trip. (Did she have to get Carl to make one for her instead of buying a high-end one?) Besides the signature Carissa touches/colors, she tends to be rather literal in her design approach, so it does not surprise me that her room for this challenge would be so readily recognizable from the magazine cover she chose as “inspiration.”

The magazine cover on the bottom row second from the right in the BTD screen cap is clearly shown in one of the previews as being the one Andrea chose. Not sure where she’s going with it, though. Wool-embroidered baseboards/wainscoting? Silver and gold? A rug with no pattern?

And what’s up with Matt? At the end of the Yahoo video, it looks like he is struggling with this challenge. In the youtube preview, he is not shown at all. A sign that he’s out, or that TPTB are trying to keep his room and status in the competition a secret and simply hoping to convince us he’s out? I think many of us would love to see what he would do with a “dreamy” living room. Then again, he seems to have a problem with budget (aka ordinary people) prices.

Gravatar I think the fireplace room could actually be Andrea's - it looks like a better version of that god-awful retro dorm room she and Ryan designed during episode one.

Gravatar Anyone notice how all of the episodes since episode 3 were won by one of the final 3 designers? Not that interesting - I just thought it was pretty neat that the top 3 really do seem to be the top 3, at least from a wins perspective.

Gravatar i think matt's is the one on the upper right on the end-those are the only covers without text on the bottom right of the cover- just a guess

Gravatar I'm more of a Trixie Beldon girl than Nancy Drew...
Trixie wouldn't have known what to do with a
swatch or paint chip. Reflects my own decorating

must survive band practice, school projects and
two large labradors.

Gravatar Hi ya'll- I'm one of the few fans of Carisa's Elle Decor inspired room. Does anyone know the name of the store where she got the orange/pink/yellow pillows with the Indian deity prints. I keep missing the zoomed-in shot of the store name when Carisa begins her spree! I'd even settle for a link to where I can get the fabric. Foolish of me to think that I could find that info on Bravo's website!--thanks!
