Kelley looks like she ran out of time exercising and didn't have time to shower & change so threw her dress on over her work out clothes. I can't believe anyone who isn't out of touch with reality would soy this is good fashion. Tim Gunn, I love you man but pluezze!
Yes sir-ree, this outfit is all about quality, taste and style.
Tim may be a gentleman, and Kelly may be "in", but she isn't in anything or anywhere I would like to be.
Some people can pull together disparate looks and make a wonderful and unexpected statement, but not Kelly. She just looks silly.
Oh, how I hate to disagree with my favorite TD blog team, but ... Kelly might be IN and fashionable, however her penchant for wearing high end clothes does not protect her from looking ridiculous.
Think Fashion Victim, and I think we are headed in the right direction. What did Coco Chanel say? Ah, yes,
Fashion fades, only style remains the same.
and
Fashion is made to become unfashionable.
Kelly's clothes are so IN, they will look unfashionable months from now. My reaction to her fashion sense? Meh.
I believe Coco Chanel also said "before you leave the house remove one thing". I think Kelly could have removed the grey tights with no problem.
Thank you for bringing this up: I think I look forward more to what the judges are wearing than anything else on this show. I think all three look fab! Hats off ladies.
Top Design has morphed into "The What Will Kelly Wearstler Wear? Show" for me. I'm only half joking.
Kelly is NOT "in" - Tim is just too nice - he just can't be mean to people!!! Except maybe Vincent.... ;D

There was no way that Tim could dis Kelly on the air...he's far too tactful for that. Laura K, do you really like her style? Yes, she's confident, but don't you think she's trying just a bit too hard? What makes her seem all the more ridiculous is that Margaret always looks so fabulous.

I'm not that sure that this is her wardrobe. Isn't there like a show stylist that picks out clothing and styles for the judges? In any case, some of Wearstler's outfits worked better than others, let's just say.
At least she's taking risks... the other judges have kept things pretty neutral (and yes I think that actually includes Adler). But I do love that guest judge from the cabana challenge that insisted she looked like the "poor relative" of the bunch... hahaha poor her.

I was completely incredulous that Tim didn't take the opportunity to tell Kelly to get a new stylist.
I suppose he was mesmerized by Scarlett's voice and unable to recover... either that or he never actually watches the show.

Okay, here's my take: Kelly Wearstler will be 40 in November; she probably thinks that's old. (I'm 55, and I don't feel a bit old.) She is desperately trying to recapture what she thinks is her lost youth by dressing like a 10 year old going through Grandma's "dress-up" trunk and putting every garment in it on at the same time.
I don't like Kelly's clothes but I view them as costumes, not really what she would wear. The Gayboys had a good post about this where they dug up old pics of her and in every single one she was beautiful and fabulous so I think that she is just trying to have some fun. And it does give us something to look forward to. 
I almost fainted when I saw the post. OMG.... I'll admit sometimes I am slow on the uptake....but still....
When HE said that, I thought, oh NO....he can't be serious. He can't have seen her....
If Kelly has a stylist for the show and past photos showed her looking fabulous, I'll cut her a little slack. The show obviously has fashioned Margaret as the classically elegant judge and Kelly as the eccentric one.
Take a look at a fashion magazine for 20-somethings, like Lucky, and Kelly would fit right in. But if she's almost 40, I think her outfits, particularly the rose-hued prom dress, make her look like mutton dresses as lamb.

Truly. I think that the fact that La Wearstler is a Southern belle has had a definite - if subliminal until caught on camera - effect on her clothing design sense.
Can you imagine what a "sweet old thing" she's going to make?
