Gravatar I hope, I hope, I HOPE they make the TD challenges a little more relevant to the viewer. I realize that "here's a twin bed, a dresser, and 300.00" type challenge is more a decorator's challenge than a DESIGNER, but guess who the audience is? PR is successful because we've either had or made or seen bad clothes, TC, the same with food. I liked Shear Genius for the same reason, but last year's TD left me bored and uninvolved. And none of the judges "See ya later, decorator" (blech!) actually showed much personality, and there was no mentor or back room judge that we could count on to encourage or castigate.

Mostly tho, I think the problem is that the challenge of using $50,000 to decorate a 1.2m loft is soooooo far removed from a lot of people-I am not sure a lot of people aspire to do that, and I am pretty sure there aren't TONS of people who have it done, except maybe on the coasts. "Being a designer and showing at Fashion Week" has a Cinderella element to it that TD just didn't deliver.

Hoping the show steps up!

Gravatar I think they should actually decorate people's apartments.
