As I Catholic, I have always beeen interested in the public square, because the Church is a fully public religion, ie because it doesn't exactly privatize itself like liberal protestantism.
When you state : secularism, elitism, and relativism, I immediately think of those values which are promoted by secret societies, pseudo-religious associations such as the Illuminati, that bring together the most despicable kind of politicans ; the ones that your are likely to find in Brussels, in Washington and at the UN.
Therefore, the Roman Catholic bishops can certainly expect that Catholic-minded politicans be seriously attentive to groups such as the Freemasons, who sometimes claim to be Christian, but who very often are found to have links with the most pernicious elements of our contemporary societies, such as abortion, wars, uprisings, etc.
