Accurately? Not quite. Why spin or ignore McCain's explicit campaign position on ESCR. That's what Deal Hudson did, even while Huckabee was still in the race.
For a moment, let's not take solace in comparing McCain's pro-death position to Obama's pro-death positions (the latter's are obvious and commonplace). Then we can at least admit that, from the "non-negotiable" standpoint, there is no major pro-life candidate for president in 2008. No matter how badly the "conservative base" and those "Reagan Democrats" (talk about living in the past) want him to be pro-life, John McCain remains a moral deviant in terms of protecting the sanctity of life. But if one takes solace in someone who is less "pro-death" than Obama (a rather low and wordly standard), then one can trumpet McCain's arrival with half truths.
