Doug Kmiec is no sucker. He's doing great evil with his current writings, and he's doing it as a free choice and with his eyes wide open. I have no doubt of this.
It is amazing the mental gymnastics that Kmiec and his fellow catholics will go through in order to justify their support of Obama.
There is just so much that is wrong about his latest editorial at "catholiconline". First he seems to imply that since abortion and racism are both inherent evils, and not voting for Obama is racist, therefore those who vote for McCain are actually committing a grave sin.
Next, his idea of subsidarity is really wild. Does he really think that keeping Roe is more in line with catholic social teaching than overturning it? We don't need laws against child abuse as long as we can persuade people not to hurt children!
