Surprised by the CNN "blackout?" Not I. Just look up owner Ted Turner's virulently anti-Catholic comments from years past, and it in no way surprises me that this story -- which is _not_ going in Pelosi's favor -- is not mentioned.

yeah, but 11 bishops getting together on something like abortion isn't news...
oh wait! yes it is, considering that bishops haven't been this vocal about an issue since... um... since... (hang on - I'll think of one instance)... the Mass no longer being in Latin?
But that's no reason to report on it. It's not like Catholic politicians getting in trouble for abortion views is an election year issue at all... unless you're Rudy Giuliani.

There are some serious problems with the anti-choice crowd's idea that personhood begins at conception.
For example, in Kathleen Parker's OpEd, she states: "In other words, human life begins at conception. That is not a religious posture, but a scientific fact that the lowest paid laborer on the planet can assert without qualm."
Why then, does she and others like her overlook science facts? Facts like two-thirds of fertilized eggs do not result in pregnancy. They fail to implant in the uterus and are flushed out naturally. And science tells us that that number may be as high as 80%.
What kind god would bestow personhood and then take it away from from four-fifths of "people?"

"What kind god would bestow personhood and then take it away from from four-fifths of "people?""
The same God who died on a cross for you. Next question?

Well, Donald, that response was as erudite as it was sequitur.
