Actually, the priest in the Joe Montana Champion commercial wasn't Fr. Hesburgh, but Fr. Jim Riehle, longtime football chaplain. He was actually upset to have been cast as one who was ignorant of Joe's career, as he closely follows the careers of ND monogram winners. He now lives at Holy Cross House at Notre Dame (along with Fr. Ted) and fondly recalls his may years as football chaplain.
