Who are the two idiots who voted Navy a loss?

If you don't like ND, fine. You can never predict that Navy will beat ND because they will never beat ND again based on the fact that they never beat ND.

When they do beat eventually ND, then you certainly can't predict that they'll beat ND AGAIN because they've already beaten ND, and it's not like it's going to happen again.

Duh.

Why is everybody so optimistic about Tennessee? Just because we got lucky as hell against them last year and we have them at home this year?

Because Tennessee is CONSISTENTLY overrated, Mike. Sure, part of it is being in the SEC East, but every year they get picked as a possibility to be in the NC, and every year they have 2-3 losses. Like last year, their game against us is a break in their SEC schedule, which is their main focus. My feeling is if we could beat them last year with poor coaching, we've got a serious shot this year, IF our coaching improves like we all think. The only lock loss I'm calling is USC--we're simply not there yet. But out of UM, USC, and Tenn, Tenn is the one I see us winning.

Some homers voting in that thing.

Should expect nothing less I guess.

Okay, I didn't pick Navy to win (and it's up to four now), but eventually it's going to happen. My opinion, however, is that if you're going to say they'll win on this board that you go ahead and go to Vegas, put everything you own (including your tiny poodle, Furball) down on the ND-Navy game, and go ahead and win (or lose) a buttload!

With that said, who are the two freakin' idiots that pick Washington to win!? Have you not been paying attention to anything that has been said on any ND-related website lately? Willingsham couldn't do it at Notre Dame... Ugh! This frustrates me so... Oh, I get it! It must be a couple of BC fans upset that they're not playing ND this year.

Now that I've calmed down--I don't understand why Michigan is a game ND should lose. Personally, (and I've asked many Michigan fans this recently) I wanna know when they're going to pull an ND and fire their coach.

I picked BYU as the pitfall game for the fact that Charlie hasn't seen a 3-3-5 defense. That scares me.

More importantly, who are the fifteen (15) individuals who demand at least ten (10) wins to deem 2005 an "acceptable" season? No reasonable definition of "acceptable" would render that standard.

The only way 9-2 wouldn't be acceptable is if ND went undefeated through the Tennessee game and somehow lost to Syracuse and Stanford. Or Navy.

Wow, what a wide disparity between us all. I was looking at the Purdue game as a game we "should" lose but might be able to pull off. (Didn't see 'em in either list.) I was surprised that the majority of people here think ND will be 8-3 this year. In my mind, that would be an amazing first year of a rebuilding process.
I sure hope it happens.

I can't wait for Saturday night.

I was wondering if someone would bring up Purdue, Kevin. I went back and forth on including them on both lists. In the end, I ommitted them from both. They're not really a game we should lose; yet, they're not really a game that's a gimme, either. Purdue @ Purdue is probably the lone game on the schedule that looks like a pretty even matchup.

I didn't see Washington on either list.

As far as the "optimism" of 8-3, I believe most people look at the fact that Notre Dame has as much talent as at least 8 teams on the schedule, added to the fact that the coaching is supposed to be better (read: it won't be bad coaching that takes ND out of games this year, but rather good coaching that keeps them in games). Taken in that light, it's not seen as optimism, but more like reality.

That is, of course, if the coaching really is as good as perceived.

You're right. I left it off for some reason.
