Well, I got a scoop for you. Right here.' Sources said Brabble may or may not have grabbed a part of his anatomy while making the announcement."

Ok, I'm a UM fan, and I'll agree [most of us did, or we didn't take it seriously] that the Weis rumor was a dirty trick.

But come on, this isn't even based on fact. The Weis rumor centered on the FACT that his buyout was a MERE 1.5 million. The "quote" from the NFL source was at least less vague than "I wouldn't...be...[surprised]" There are no facts here. As someone mentioned, they didn't even get the death penalty school right. Maybe this is intentional, so as to look like a joke. But don't let this spread, because a statement not based on fact that has no truth and can potentially hurt the party involved is LIBEL. It's against the law, people.

That blurb was never meant to be taken seriously but the other (UM) appeared on NFL.com. It was not based on any fact since the premise of the article was hat Weis may leave not Weis has a buyout. Now you're whining because of this cynical piece of satire written in the same spirit as your UM piece? Me thinks thou dost protest too much. There is one HUGE difference our piece is written on a blog viewed predominantly by fans who understood the context of the humor. The other was printed for a national audience with the intent of trying to sabbotage the efforts of a coach who far exceeds any who've walked the sidelines at the big house.You pout just like your coach. If your into News, even as a fan it is your duty to report the Good, the Bad and the Ugly. You don't pretend things being said are 'not out there' simply because you love your team. You don't pretend it might impact upon recruiting because indeed it's out there and continued silence might mean basis for that rumor.

Yes, I too have come to expect this blog to be a hard news site, after all, that is what you guys are paid to do.

This, for me, is very disappointing. Never before have I seen you guys opine on a topic, nor are you ones to make a sharp quip, a biting comment, or a humorous observation. Never before have you posted a work of total fiction, for example, the transcript of a meeting among opposing coaches.

You must be careful when you use “facts.” They can not be brandished around without regard. It is libelous to state facts such as:

- "one college team has found out that it might be the subject of NCAA penalties"
- "The University of Michigan has been under scrutiny from the NCAA before"
- "there are numerous NCAA violations each year in college football"

I mean, do these carry even a hint of truth? Also, as any lawyer could tell you, words like "probably" and "might" and punctuation marks such as "?" only strengthen the force behind these statements.

If you want to use facts, then you should use them is a positive manner, such as demonstrating what a upright football program Michigan has. Did you know that in their last four graduating classes, they graduated 57% of their football players? That is nearly 60%! Also, of these student athletes, 47% of African-American players graduated as opposed to 70% of white athletes. Now that is indicative of a clean program.

When I joke at my site we have a 'smiley' after it so no one gets confused between opinion, humor or factual account.
