Did we wear green jerseys in 1935? I believe we did...
I've got an old Fighting Irish record which kind of gives a fast and furious history of Notre Dame football up to 1969 (when the LP was produced). The liner notes mention how big the 1935 OSU-ND game was; biggest college football game of all time, in the top three greatest contests in "modern" sports (the other two being a baseball game and a boxing match--don't have the jacket in front of me). It's good that both schools and their fans remember that historical occasion. Joe | Email | Homepage | 12.30.05 - 3:01 pm | #

You can thank Woody for the dry run in the 70's and 80's...he didn'tbelieve in playing a tough team like ND before the Big Ten season kicked off...and I suspect that he was a bit afraid of the challenge that ND would present year in and year out, not a sure win by any stretch.
ND and OSU were close to a series in the 70's or early 80's, and it fell apart. John B. | Email | Homepage | 12.31.05 - 12:46 am | #

You gotta at least give Muck Fishigan credit for having the guts to give us a chance to ruin their season in early September for so many years. Dozier | Email | Homepage | 12.31.05 - 8:02 am | #
