I just read today in the Atlanta paper that Mitch Mustain, the QB from Arkansas also has the Irish in his top three, but I don't see him on your list. Any hope? |

I wouldn't put too much stock in the Mustain-ND stuff. |

Of all that are left, McCoy fits the biggest need as far as I'm concerned. Please send N.D. karma his way. |

Michael - The Mustain news has caused quite a bit of rumormongering on multiple college football message boards, but in the absence of much factual information, rumors and conjecture are filling the void. Personally, I left out Mustain's name because he's not a candidate for one of the few remaining open spots. Notre Dame just isn't going to take 3 quarterbacks. The only way that I can see Mustain coming to Notre Dame is in the place of one of the current QB commits. And I don't really want to get into that sort of speculation because I don't know the facts and wouldn't want to further spread third or tenth-hand rumors. If anything happens you can be sure we'll address it, but until then I'm content to sit back and assume that Frazer and Jones will remain committed to ND and Mustain was a day late and a dollar short. |

How wonderful is it that here in 2005, ND doesn't have room for the No. 1 QB in the nation, and I as well as others feel as if HE'S missing out. |

I agree with Andy - the two defensive tackles would be a great addition. |

Awesome job! Absolutely awesome job by CW and his staff. I am looking forward to hearing the chants of "reloading" as opposed to "rebuilding". With a lot of these kids nowadays, they did not grow up with ND being a powerhouse and understanding what a great place it really is. For the past 10-12 years, all the rage has been about Oklahoma, Miami, Florida State, Tennessee, and most recently USC. It really says what a good job Charlie has done in that the caliber of kids he is getting to commit are doing it based on having faith in his system and what the program CAN be as opposed to what it has been. These kids don't know a great ND program; unless they can remember back to when they were 5 or 6 years old. It just bodes well for the future and warms the cockles of my heart. I guess it's our own little Christmas present! |
