My broken leg took 6 weeks to heal. It was a pretty standard/clean fracture from some dirty rat bastard that kicked me from behind when I was playing soccer (I schooled his ass, which is why he was left standing behind me).

Anyways, by week 5 I was itchin to pull crap off and start moving again. (Think about it, can you imagine walking around in a cast in South Bend in -10 degree February weather?)

I definitely noticed some muscle atrophy, but I imagine a world class div 1 facility like tOSU might have some sci-fi magic like an electric light orchestra to help improve recovery time.

I expect bobby carpenter to dress and play, although probably not all of the game and probably not at 100%.

Any post with pictures of Mexican wrestling masks is a winner in my book. Once again, there is no better place to start one's Web day than at BGS. Kudos on a great year.

does anybody know if Carpenter has been in a cast? Because if they're still taking x-rays at this point, then he probably just got out of the cast a little bit ago and hasn't really started rehab. I know, massive assumptions, but if they're still tracking the progress of his injury and it's still not definitive, chances are he's not playing fooball in a week. Especially with a broken bone. Even if the break is mended by Saturday, he'll still have a fair amount of muscle loss from being casted for 6-8 weeks.

Well, he supposedly got the cast off last week, so that would put him about 5 weeks in a cast (he went down on Nov 19). It's possible he'll be able to play, but even if he does, there's no way he'll be at full speed.

I guess if he's hobbled, it'd be great if he tried to play.

Checkout the big brain on Jay.

Is that Latin?

Sic transit gloria, brandy. Glory fades.

Agreed jay, i'd rather have him on the field at 50 or 60% than some rabid dog freshman at 100%. If he couldn't do more than jog in practice the other day he is not gonna play though. Tressel is playing the same game charlie did with rhema for the weeks following the michigan game; might as well keep the opponent guessing if you know your guy can't go...

Great article. Given the amount of time that the Road Warriors spent in the WCW, I'm almost shocked that he has such an affinity for northern schools.

The WCW's historical main territory was the "Horsemen Belt" from Richmond down to Greenville over through Atlanta and then back over to Memphis.

With Georgia's ties to Bill Goldberg, I'm disappointed we didn't get this guy.

I saw the Road Warriors in person in 1983 at a high school gym in Thomaston, Georgia (which probably wasn't even on a map back then). They were in a tag match against King Kong Bundy and Pistol Pez Whatley.

Not that anyone asked.

Boy do I hate the media...you don't see anyone talking about Oregon anymore now do you?

First, Hawk ran a 4.47 last year at our ProDay for the NFL scouts and Carp ran a 4.5, so Hawk is faster. Second, Carp wasn't actually in a cast. He had a walking-boot on.

Pic from early this week...

You can see that he's definitely weight bearing now.

wait, the guy in the back of that picture has a green jersey w/gold numbers...

took a look at ozone, apparently the scout team is wearing green. tressel preparing for green jerseys, round II? me thinks they're wrong. as big as this game is, it isn't as big as the USC game. plus, charlie probably wouldn't break 'em out again.

however, i saw a pic floating around here of bowl jerseys with green numbers from a while ago. think cdub will break out a crazy uni for fiesta, or keep it classy blue w/white numbers?

oh, and brady quinn has a little beer gut. or his doppelganger does, at least.

Tedwick, that doppelganger is Rob Schoenhoft who came close to being ND's freshman QB this year. ND was recruiting him along with Evan Sharpley, Jason Forcier, and Mark Sanchez. After it became apparent that Sanchez wasn't coming to ND, Rob, Evan, and Jason were the targets. ND held off on offering any of them scholarships as it appears they didn't really know which one they wanted. Schoenhoft (rumored to be Diedrick's choice) was finally offered but by then was pretty much sold on home state Buckeyes. So then they offered Sharpley, who was waiting for the ND offer and committed as soon as he got it.

FWIW, the OSU play-by-play guy was on ESPN radio in Tempe today and said he didn't expect Carpenter to play.

Great title for the article. So what do they do without it? Let's see.
