I have a friend that's deep into following the Rutgers football program, and he's gotten the vibe that Weis is a big supporter of RU. To the point that he'll be pushing kids to RU that won't/can't go to ND.

Better they go there than PSU.

"Woke up this morning..." as in, "feel 'round for my shoe" with the old Walking Blues?

As always, I'm diggin' the random references.

Was the ceremony held at The Bada Bing?

I think it's more mainstream than that - the Doors, right?

Although 50% of the time, blues songs start with that line every time.

"It's a major award"

Where is South Carolina University? Is that anywhere near Notre Dame University?

I think it's near the University of South Carolina University.

I was at the banquet and blogged about it on Monday. The ND faithful turned out in huge numbers. The whole event was a major Jersey love-fest, but the NJ Division of Travel & Tourism may want to hire CW as a spokesperson after he retires from ND.

Did Jersey settle on a new state slogan yet? Last I heard, "Really, it's not a dump" was leading.

"New Jersey...the smell blows in from Pittsburg!"

Or

"New Jersey...faithfully stocking up on heterosexual mustaches and IROC-Zs since 1981!"

Nice work, Anon!

Just in case we're keeping score, that Anon was me. For some reason my name keeps getting wiped cleared from the posting form and I forget to fix it. They must be on to me.

"Woke up this morning...got myself an award"

I thought it was a play off Got Yourself a Gun by Nas. Made me play that one anyway.

"Woke up this morning...got myself an award"

I thought it was a play off Got Yourself a Gun by Nas. Made me want to play that song anyway.

New Jersey guys stick together except in the case of Sam Alito, where both NJ Senators voted against a well qualified NJ guy

Roadhouse Blues right?

Woke up this mornin' and I got mah-self a beeeeeer...

My roommate always insisted that the motto was "New Jersey: God's Country", but I'm pretty sure it's "Jersey Girls Aren't Trash. Trash Gets Picked Up."

"New Jersey...celebrating our role as the world's armpit for over 150 years!"

It was held at the Blue Swan Diner on 35 in Neptune, just past the jug handle.
