"I'm excited to mold these junior college players that no one else recruited into men. Who knows, maybe one of them will be a decent football player someday. By then, however, I plan on setting a new NCAA record by collecting paychecks from three universities at the same time."

- Ty WillingHAM, UW coach

I thought he was as terrible a coach as everybody else did, but the University has moved on to bigger and better things with CW. Ty is gone now. Can't we just leave the guy alone?

No we cannot. He should never be forgiven for the depths he helped sink ND to.

Jones comment about Brady were great - way to go CW tighten those screws and bring back the championship.

Demetrius Jones...future Chad Johnson?

I might be able to forgive Willingham the man someday (maybe), but no one should ever forget the Willingham era at Notre Dame - or forgive the legion of hyenas who used it as an excuse to kick us while we were down. Until such time that there no is longer any lingering perception that the firing of Tyrone Willingham was racist or unjustified, his continued failure as a coach validates what had to be done. I'm not saying this has to go on forever. Personally, I envision an episode of "The Sports Reporters" in which Jason Whitlock admits that he's always been a lying, race-baiting shit-kicker who has it in for Notre Dame in particular and white people in general. Then he gets up and leaves to go interview Mark Mangino at the Golden Dragon All-You-Can-Eat Chinese Buffet.

I will leave Ty alone once he is fired from Washington, Notre Dame wins a national championship, and he is off of our payroll.

Doesn't that guy in the background of the Zach Frazer picture look like Pete Vass?

DJ as new Chad Johnson...hopefully withOUT the gold cap teeth...

That is one bright red suit. Yikes.

Ty-bashing is pathetic. It's like the Red Sox fans' obsession with the Yankees or the White Sox fans' obsession with Cub fans. Pathetic.

You wanna know what's pathetic, Pink?

Ty's record, handling of the program, track record at recruiting, lack of balls to go after bigtime recruits, offensive schemes (or lack thereof), his "experience" at coordinating schemes, his gameplans, his "lack of execution" excuse to blame the players, his hiring decisions for his staff, his failure to stop discusion of his firing as racists (which he instead seemed perfectly fine fueling) etc., etc.

Besides all that I generally liked the guy. He was nice.

Ty bashing = fun and healthy.

ACTUAL quote from his post signing day press conference:
"I am excited about the 21 guys that we have at this point... ....I think we have five guys from Washington, 15 from California and one each from the states of Nebraska, Nevada and Arizona. This is a group that I think will make this football team a better team and I think that is a process that we set out to accomplish a year ago."

5 + 15 + 3 = 21?????

Of course the robot genius knows all about the importance of proper screw adjustment.

Andy,

Did you fabricate TW's quote?

Its too obvious. I don't believe it.

Wow. A nice BGS article giving insite into ND's future and the majority of comments don't even discuss this article.

Very disappointing. Look forward. Don't be a hater people.

Thinkabout it, what would CW do?

Be a winner. Lets move forward, OK?

Focus people, I mean honestly, how great is Konrad Reuland's quote?

Atepesm,
I whole heartedly agree with you about moving forward, but let's not stand in the way of good comedy either.

Oh man, that last post was priceless.

The TW "new math" quote ain't no fabrication...

Coach Wiliingham discusses newest group of Dawgs

OMG...I just realized. NO, that isn't my typo...the UW site has TW's named spelled wrong!

"Coach Wiliingham"

The fun never stops.

I agree with atepesm. We should talk about the kids and their statements. (I am not opposed to a little Ty bashing though. Amusing comments, one and all.)

I am psyched about this incoming class! The O-line group is unbelievable. No fewer than 3 of these DB recruits are going to have significant playing time and make an instant impact. And how can you not like D. Jones? I'm totally pulling for that kid.

Tat wuld b the weigh of speling at the UDub.

I mean, c'mon, one of Ty's recruits couldn't graduate from Compton Community College! He got turned down ACADEMICALLY at NEBRASKA.

But I'm sure they are all fine young men, which Ty will further mold. . .

As for DJ, who else can't wait until he's a starter talking smack with the best of them?

I'm with steedle, I say Ty is fair game till he stops getting W-2's from Du Lac.
