When did we get a basketball team?

Ah, the fieldhouse... Site of great football pep rallies, dirt, dust, blanket tossed freshman, human pyramids, and a dude that climbed the walls and watched every rally sitting on a reinforcing rod twenty feet above the floor.

I heard they once played basketball there, too...

Good luck with the new blog - watching hoops this year has been tortuous. Glad to have a place to track the basketball program

Interesting decision - maintaining the brand, huh? You guys continue to impress on every level. Good luck with the new site. Keep up the great work!

It's funny, I was never really into basketball. I was in the bookstore a couple weeks ago and passed by Digger Phelps and didn't realize it until I heard the lady say "see you later, Digger." I went to my first game (Providence, got a nice poster and one of those car flags) and the next couple weeks I'll be going to the home games on consecutive Wednesdays. But the boys are worth cheering for and I'll be frequenting the new site. If it's ND, I'm in.

Just visited the new site..It is great!!I will visit often!

Keep up the great work!

I'll check the site out, but sadly, I predict that traffic will nosedive after March 1.

Good luck with the new site boys!

Like you, Joe, I never really got into hoops either. I think in 4 years, I went to 4 games and two of those years (88-89 and 89-90) ND was a Tournament team. I will say that at one game I went to, people were booing Digger. Very sad to see ND fans treat him that way.

I wonder if there's ever been a team in a major conference with as many last second losses as this team.

Great. As if BGS didn't take up enough of my time, now I've got the Fieldhouse to worry about.

When you lose football games by 31 points you are under the gun. When you lose ALL those close basketball games shouldn't the coach be under the same or similar gun. Brey seems a good basic coach who can't instill a killer instinct. Quinn forcing up those last minute shots reminds me of last years attempted theatrics.

We need a dominant big man who can assert in the paint, and Francis hasn't really played up to that level. I think we have some good talent coming in, although losing Quinn will hurt. If one of our wealthier alumns would be willign to pony up for a new basketball facility, maybe that'd help

When we consistently beat Murrray State, I'll pay attention.
