1. I'm OK with JoePa being a bitter old competitive SOB. I mean heck, he was around when Rockne was coaching, ya gotta cut the guy a little bit of slack, right?

2. There is no room to cut Pete Carroll some slack. He was a loser in the NFL (just statin the facts ma'am) and he continually comes across as a spineless self-serving SOB, even at the cost of his own players. Do you think Petey would ever go to the other teams locker and congratulate them on a game well played? The man just doesn't ooze class and strength of character.

I'm definitely looking forward to ND taking it to USC this year. As well as, CW and staff going after them in the recruiting game. Go ND, Go to Hell Pete Carroll.

No need to knock Joe Paterno. How about a little respect for a guy that's a living legend and is always respectful to other programs? He knows that that ND will be an very tough matchup on the road. You can't blame him for pandering to his audience with a little light-hearted humor. Keep in mind that most coaches would do the same, including Weis.

Good point, Manor Man. We'd all expect Weis to take digs at SC, Michigan, and Purdue if he were talking to a group of alumni. It would be one thing if it were game week and he were talking to the media, but an offseason alumni meeting? That's the kind of thing a coach does to show that he "gets it". I'm actually more surprised that JoePa still has it in him to be that witty.

Ok, living near Crappy Valley I can cut the old man some slack for talking smack in the off season, esp. concerning ND. But what the hell is that comment supposed to mean? I don't think the Vatican would pay for a new hoop arena, even if we asked nicely. But the real kicker is that he coaches at Penn STATE. So he gets our tax money to upgrade his facilities.
