God, now I actually want that JoePA shirt with the Brains on it. That is fantastic, not to mention something that I would actually wear. Well done. |
I'd like to see a gameday shirt like this for the michigan game: |
I wonder how many slacker students will take some of those quotes and put them on shirts and try to pull it off as their own. The one I would most like to see made is the Michigan St. shirt. Especially since the game is in East Lansing. Also the Army one was great. All around great effort. |
fightingamish over at HRB has you beat to the Purdue "Sweetheart" shirts: |
Nicely done HRB. I'd buy that for a dollar. |
I'm still perfectly happy to wear my We-Is ND shirt that my friends and I printed up the day after Charlie was hired. I never cease to get compliments on it, but some assholes are making their own and selling them now I guess. Bastard capitalist pigs. |
That was your doing? Man, I hate those shirts :) |
University of Miami logo with comments: |
and of course Duke: |
my personal favorite student shirt was a BC maroon colored shirt with gold text stating the following: |
Don't forget the classic "Ann Arbor is a whore" |
There was also the ever classic, "Why do all the trees in South Bend lean to the left?" on front. |
Love the Army slogan, and your right, number 43 will hurt us more then it hurts you. |
Then there were the failed shirts such as: |
Here is on from the "Dark Ages" |
The PSU Braaains shirt would be a must have. Like Jed Clampett, you have stumbled upon Gold, Jerry, Gold! |
My fave is still from the cotton bowl in '87 (or so--my memory fades with every passing day and additional blow to the head) that was the A&M logo with a small "e" on each side of it. (If your imagination has faded like my memory, it formed the endearing phrase "eatme") |
My fave '88 shirt: |
How about the '05 Tenessee shirt with "I need a Volunteer" stenciled above a down arrow. |
Anon- that sounds like a piss poor imitation of what we had when I was there. First off, it's lean to the West, not "left". Second, it's because USC sucks and Florida State blows. At least insult good teams. (and then beat them) Stanford and BC are not worthy of making t-shirts for. |
Gozer, I've seen the same thing in all sorts of variations--Michigan and FSU (with the trees bending north), etc. But you're right--at least save it for decent teams, and not...Stanford?? |
No offense, but it puzzles me that ND fans make fun of Michigan/Lloyd for losing 3 games every year when ND hasn't had a season better than that in 12 years. |
ND doesn't come into every season ranked in the top 5. We haven't expected a NC in a long time. |
ny1995. That is true. But over the past twelve years, LLLoyd has probably had much better talent than the Irish. Our happiness with LLLoyd is that he has managed to do so little with so much. |
I gotta admit, these are some pretty good shirts and its gonna be hard not to steal one of these quotes. I did the "Play like Ronald Talley Today" shirts last year and I still have to come up with one to do this year. |
First, it's a tip of the hat to our good buddy Three-Loss Lloyd. Second, it's a riff on the banner that Charlie hung in the ND weight room: "9-3 Is Not Good Enough." |
Please, it was LLLloyd this year -- four losses, not three. |
The best shirts I've seen by far that are Irish related are at www.sportscrack.com/store.html |
Yes, I like those a lot too. That website keeps them simple, I really like this one: http://sportscrack.com/
tees_10_v...ntage_navy.html |
I did like the Tennessee "I Need A Volunteer" shirt, but there was also a shirt for the ND v Nebraska game, something like "Husker, I barely knew her." |
For the game against tOSU: |
My favorite (and I wear it all the time) is the "Backup College - Closet Fan" shirt that is printed with the exact design of the BC Superfan shirt. I got reactions to that all the time. |
I'll take 1 Braaains and 1 8-3: Just Good Enough please. |
It would be nice to have a game with a final score immediately following the game for a nice low price. Losses would be an issue, though. But that was more of a problem in '04. |
Sorry about last post. I meant game shirt, errr. |
For those not lucky enough to be out at the Fiesta Bowl, the best t-shirt I saw was the one with THE WEIS MAN COMETH on the front and Weis warriors are mightier than stong ones. Proverbs 24:5 on the back. |
*strong |
This is completly OT, but were you guys asleep all day? Was I, the Web's lone Navy blogger, the only one to report this? |
Sadly, the days of two star Qbs recruited to ND are over. God bless CW. |
Seriously, if someone will make the "Brains" tshirt, I'll buy five. spewingnonsense? |
The problem with the Braaains shirt is that none of the shirt companies will print anything copyrighted, so the ND and PSU logos and names wouldn't be on it. |
has anyone else seen this? |
Seriously? Like advising your players parents to briefly consider some people (not sign) is some terrible sin. Yet this kinda crap no one cares about...http://www.dispatch.com/news-story.php?

There's no doubting the shadyness of OSU, but if Quinn even verbally agreed to an agent, by rule, your eligibility is over. |
Maybe I'm reading less into this than some, but "narrowing down" doesn't seem to equal "entering into a verbal or written agreement". It directly PRECLUDES it, as if you're still "narrowing down", you've not come to an agreement with anyone. |
Mr. A, it was discussed in a comments thread a few posts back. No posts yet though. |
No matter the outcome, I just don't see it being a good idea for seniors to be associating with agents the summer before their season starts. What's the hurry? It doesn't seem like any good can come out of it for the program or the player. |
Weis did not in any way encourage his players to sign with anyone. Quinn had his father, uncle, and family lawyer I believe listen to some people and narrow down their list of potential future agents to around 5 people. Nothing was signed, money wasn't discussed, they simply interviewed some agents to see who was trustworthy enough to put the career of Quinn into their hands. For someone in Quinn's position, I don't think there is anything wrong with this. Most top players spend their final year fielding nothing but calls from agents, lawyers, etc. These people call players homes, players' families homes, and can in general become a major annoyance. Look what happened with Reggie Bush. No one is out there to protect some of these young men, and I think telling a high profile player to narrow some of that future crap down so they can focus on the present is an excellent idea. |
Everyone, just relax and check out the 6/27 story links on NDNation.com |
reggie bush's problems stemmed from being an idiot and letting an "agent" buy his mom a house :p |
back to the topic of t-shirts - anyone have the usc "Decade of Dominance" shirts from the mid-90s? Those were awesome! The listed the scores of every ND-usc game over the prior 10 years. They were sold out when I was at the '95 usc game. |
Yes, I had one (RIP). It finally ripped nearly down the entire front. I got my dad a coffee mug replica of the Decade/Dominance shirt and even after MANY dishwashing, all letters eroded away, the only thing remaining....the gold ND helmet. |
