Can I get an Amen?

Well Done BGS. Well Done.

You'd think there'd be some smarter people out there. You know someone with the wit to realize a guy with a fist full of Super Bowl rings who just had his prize safety box in Madison Square Garden was smart enough to make sure he was compliant with ALL his athletes.

I could see this happening at a smaller school, where they don't have an athletic department with as many resources as ND, but unless you're of the mindset to cut corners like one of them big Pac 10 or big 10 school . . . its not likely to happen . . . especially at a school that takes the high road when it comes to NCAA violations.

Well said BGS-good reminders. I'm dying for a post on the Wolke situation, though. thanks.

Working something up on Wolke. Busy day and I figured this was probably more important to get out first.

I'm pretty confident that you did more research on Don Yee than the authors of the article. Nice work.

"a false internet rumor is like the campfire moth that flies in everyone's face to get their attention, just before dive-bombing into the heart of the flames..."

I had no idea you were a poet Pat. Bravissimo.

that website actually was the site that broke the whole vince young wonderlic test score thing.

If you're refering to me, which I think you are, I'm an ND fan first, but I don't try and view information with a filter. :)

Rumor is rumor and it's interesting to discuss, no?

I wasn't referring to you andrew.

As usual.... well done.

The VY Wonderlic score that he reported was false, was it not?

He (Vince Young) reportedly got a six, the nfl denied it, but then claimed the first test wasn't properly administered. He took it again and got a 16

As a ND fan, I understand the reaction of calling off the website for being what it is, a rumor site; however, I have to attest that Profootballtalk.com is actually pretty well connected with the NFL (most NFL execs check the site everyday) and Florio is quite respected now within the media (He helped break the Reggie Bush fiasco pre-draft). So don't rip Profootballtalk for being unreliable without first doing your own research into the websites claims and accuracy of those claims. Now granted, Quinn's issue is tough being that it is ND, but can you fault the site for running it??

Yes.

AKDOMER - I did look at the site and I never called it unreliable. I called it stupid for attempting to float such a dumb rumor. And given the way that Florio is backpedaling from his initial post, I think it's pretty obvious that he realizes he ran with a bad tip from an agent who was told thanks but no thanks by Team Quinn.

Of course the site breaks rumors before the national media does. Unlike the national media, they don't need to bother with fact-checking. And when you throw enough crap up against the wall, something's bound to stick.

Since when does national media check facts?

Mike Florio admitted that he'll run any story that sounds plausible and won't get him sued.

I think it's safe to say he's unreliable. If you don't believe me, look at the profile the Washington Post did on his site. The quote's right there.
