A Georgia Tech win over Clemson will also help.

For what its worth, No. 13 Georgia Tech, fresh off a bye week after defeating Maryland, travels to Clemson, S.C., to take on the 12th-ranked Tigers (ESPN, 7:45 p.m. ET).

Granted they are both behind ND, but a GT win will only help strengthen ND's argument for a respectable win/strength of schedule.

Go Ramblin Wreck!

not sure if you kids heard yet, Georgia Tech plays clemson this weekend.

Georgia Tech plays Clemson? WOw!

Who does Georgia Tech play this weekend?

Jeff, I think Georgia Tech plays Notre Dame this weekend. Should be an interesting match up. Another good game to watch is UCLA vs ULAC. Both are very evenly matched.

Go Tech! If they beat Clemson and then take care of the Miami Thugz, they've got a pretty good shot at winning the ACC, and that sure won't hurt ND at all.

Of course, the Irish better win first.

Iowa wasn't so much looking ahead to Michigan so much as missing 7 key starters to injuries. Still, no excuse to loose to Indiana.

The key to this weekend, as related to ascendant post-season aspirations, has less to do with ND winning (a must) as with the quality and soundness of that win. The team is coming off a bye. The coaching staff has had time, and more time, to make adjustments. In fact, we can say that they have had a lot of time to invent; why not introduce a new alignment or formation to the game that we pretty much invented?
The offense must return to the crispness and efficiency of last year. The defense should ... play soundly?

Since there is still some smoke visible from the UM game, the above would be nothing more than a somewhat hoped-for, somewhat-expected start to the second half.

And.....Goergia Tech beating Ohio State this weekend will be a big plus! Go you frothing stingers!

I think that we will see an Irish squad tomorrow that has been vastly coached up during the past two weeks. An important thing to remember is that because of the Fall Break week, ND was not limited to 20 hours of football work. That means the team gets to work more of an NFL schedule of 8-5 on nothing but football. ND really exploded offensively during this portion of last season, and I think we'll see that again this year. Also, Coach Weis hinted during his interview last week on an ESPN program that the Shark is really coming into form. I think that all the baseball playing definitely gave him some rust to his football skills, and when combined with the double coverage he's been facing, I think its been a little more difficult for him to get going this season. I expect him to really turn it on in the second half of the season. If Weis is hinting at something like that, I expect he knows something we don't.

go georgia tech beat west virginia

Here's hoping that Georgia Tech can beat the Chicago Bears this weekend - that would certainly boost Notre Dame's Sag ratings. Supposedly, the Bears are playing with Ditka as coach and their arms tied behind their back, but it will still be a tough test for the Stingers.

Georgia Tech 17 Mini-Bears 24
And that would finally be a good game!

Brad, I'm hoping you are right on with that post. Also, has anyone heard more about (after beating OSU tomorrow and 'da Bearsss' on Sunday) GT playing UF next Thursday night? I'm thinking that is the stingers win out, they may knock US out of any NC possibility. Of course, when they play Michigan on Nov....

"if the stingers win..." sorry!
"is the stingers win out.." reads like I graduated from a U(niversity) about 70 miles south of hear, in a dark place with gables of coral...

TeaOhEssYou,

I know you buckeyes are confident, but would you really have us believe you don't even know how to spell lose?

I think what you meant to say was "There's no excuse for getting your goose on during NFL training camp.

Is it a mini Ditka?

No, It is a full-grown Ditka.

And Jordan is playing as well in a Lay-Z-Boy recliner.

They are giving away tickets to the BCS championship game at the BCS website, if anyone is interested. Here's the URL:

B,

Jordan isn't playing. But the Jord-ka composite athelete is playing quarterback and middle linebacker.

I see T-Willy's team couldn't finish off their miracle comeback and knock Cal out of our hair. And Clemson had their way with GT. Nebraska couldn't beat Texas in a close one, and Auburn couldn't hold on against Tennessee. Sheesh, couldn't ANYBODY help us out this weekend?

Oh wait, Northwestern did by blowing a 38-3 lead with less than 25 minutes to play against John Elly's Spartans. Now THAT will help our strength of schedule for sure. Ugh.
