Clemson falls to VT!

And now we have one of those circular problems, don't we? Ga Tech beats Va Tech, Clemson beats Ga Tech, and Va Tech beats Clemson.

Well, we got some help last night with VaTech beating Clemson CONVINCINGLY

What's hilarious is how the cnnsi writers have been pumping Clemson football the past 2 weeks. Check out Mandel's power rankings. Unfortunately, shortly after the game SI took down their gushy piece about Clemson being the future of ACC football and how their running game is dominant. I think it was Cory McCartney who wrote it - reading it in the 4th quarter, I had to laugh out loud. A classic piece of sports journalism that unfortunately can no longer be found on their site. This is not to know Clemson, but to heap humiliation on the CNNSI guys who have shown no love for ND this year.

GO REALITY! BEAT PUNDITRY!

What's the spread in the ND/Navy game?

Clemson had a bad game on the road, so did Ga Tech. Big deal. When they compare the ND and Clemson victories, did the haters forget it was an intersectional road game for us? Oh well. Clemson is still good but it just shows all these comparisons are lame.

We better annihilate (sp?) Navy this week. I was at the Rutgers-Navy game where Hampton got hurt. The backup is terrible. Hampton would have caused us problems (see UConn game), but the Hawaiian kid cannot throw or run. Rutgers won 34-0 because the backup kept turning the ball over (it was 3-0 with 2:00 to go in the first half).

I'll be freezing my nards off in the upper deck, they better put on a show. Stovall had 4TDs last year. Hopefully the Shark will get that many this year.

I believe the spread on the game is 14.

I agree that a convincing win against Navy would benefit us in the polls, but my prediction is it will be a cold day in hell before charlie willingly rolls up a 34 point lead on the academy. I think we'll win handily, but since Navy is not much of a comeback threat, I'd expect this one to be 3 touchdowns or less. Hopefully I'm not counting our chickens...

Just wondered if ND doesn't at least cover, will we drop even further in the polls (assuming no other 1 loss team loses)? Charlie is obviously mindful of the polls, will he let it play a part in how he calls the game (i.e. try to win by 3+ TDs)? I doubt it. Just food for thought.

Hopefully this will be an opportunity to get the freshmen and sophs out for some gameday experience. I hate it when they come out for a series and then are told to take a knee. And CBS better not cut away for some startling announcement and coverage that a 90 year old appelate judge has just passed away.

I think this game will be won in the air (BQ throws a few TDs to get out to a good lead) and then finished on the ground (out of respect for Navy and consistent with CWs history).

This game will be short. With the new clock rules and Navy's rushing offense, there may not be enough possessions for a blowout win by ND.

Sorry, iNDy, Punditry is a +34 favorite over Reality.
