Beat USC! |
|
Yeah, James also said that the tailback from Arkansas is a better football player than BQ. They were totally dismissive of Notre Dame and acted as if the game was a mere formality. They should call their segment "Dueling Assholes". |

I read every one of those quotes and laughed out loud at nearly each one. |

It's the Friday after Thanksgiving, I'm having a wonderful day, watching football in between tryptpohan-induced comas (aka naps), when I'm subjected to ND-haters #1 (May), #2 (Saunders) and #3 (James), all on the same set at the same time. As they joke about ND's defense not having a chance at stopping the same SC offense that "beat up on" us so bad last year (aside: what would they have been saying had Wooden had his hand 2 inches lower and knocked down that 4th & 9 pass?), my blood is starting to boil with rage. |

You forgot this little gem from McKay: |
|
There is a great NFL Films compilation of McKay qoutables. Its funny in print, but the man even had great timing and delivery! Too bad he worked for the bad guys. |

I skipped every single halftime show today merely so that I wouldn't have to spend my day off getting pissed at the announcers. NONE of them are giving the Irish a chance...and that's fine. When was the last time Mark May was right about anything? Now if he was saying we'd win by 14, then I'd be worried. |
|
After a 14-0 loss to 'SC, Stanford's coach, John Ralston, said "Even though we were shutout we almost got 'em." |
|
guys, this is why I read this blog. Great work and great introduction to a time when real men walked the earth. Italian Army... classic. You can picture the scene. |

I never really paid too much attention to Mark May, primaily due to knowing that he needs us to make a living. However, on Friday, saw he and James and Saunders outright dismiss Notre Dame's chances, adding "they better find a defensive backfield inthe next day" and "they're just not going to win." I've never heard that said before, and it is actually a compliment to us. You can feel the hate coming off the set. And the more that I see of Saunders, the more that I'm seeing someone who 'Kramer' could be taking legitimate shots at ... he spooks a sport set! |

There is a fear growing. It happened in 1977. I remember getting kicked out of Algebra class in HS after we won the NC that year for arguing with a Mich fan on how we didn't deserve it. |
