welcome, Robert. I look forward to your work keeping opposing linebackers skittish. |
After watching those Zellars clips, I don't know what Corwin will do but if Hughes runs a 34 offense we should enjoy some great highlights. |
What are the realistic chances Hughes convinces his friend and Chicago Public League mate, Martez Wilson, to follow him to ND? It's been rumored, but how solid is Wilson in his Illinois commitment? At one time he was considered an Irish lean. It's wishful thinking for sure, but it would be a nice signing day surprise. |
It's pretty late in the game for Wilson to switch back to ND, but stranger things have happened in recruiting. I guess we'll all know in two weeks. |
Any chance Hughes was also an all-state Linebacker? We need some people who take it personal when they see opposing running backs coming through the line. :o) |
I know this isn't a Chicago Bears' site, but it is the only blog site that I go to, and I needed to share this one (I have seen similar Irish videos that give me the same chills). |
Instead of attempting another TT experiment - running back to linebacker, I'm going to wish upon a star that Chris Gallip wakes up and smells the rotten odor that Reggie Bush has bestowed upon the USC program. The Feds, NCAA and Pac-10 are taking a serious look at U.S.C., particularly the Poodle's allowing agents on campus and allowing R. Bush to be a summer intern with mike ornstein, convicted con-man that Poodle knew about from his NFL days. |
First of all, its Gallipo. Second, he's not going to bail on USC. |
I could watch that run all day long. |
Those ESPN vid highlights sure look like Hughes running downhill on turf. Anybody know if all/most of his games were on the fake stuff? Just wondering if some of that speed might drop a bit on grass, a la D. Freeney or the Rams' receivers a few years back. |
Looks like he played a lot of games on fake crap, but that didn't have anything to do with his stiff arms or the fact that he plowed through and over people. |
This guy isn't a speed-demon. He clocked in at 4.6 on the forty. That isn't what is special about him. What's special is his ability to run the crap over people. This is the kind of guy who will run right up the gut for 5 yards on a consistent basis. I love guys like that. |
Thunder and Lightning (Hughes and Allen). |
Unfortunately, in the (free) Rivals video about his commitment, Hughes said he's not going to try and sway Wilson to ND. He said he knew how hard the decision-making process was for himself, so he was going to respect his friend's decision. |
He kind of reminds me of Lawrence Maroney |
Except not nearly as fast. Moreso because of the sweet stiff arm. |
Was a freshman sitting in the endzone right where Zellars ran to; Awesome, simply Awesome. |
...rushing for 357 yards... |
Well, I didn't hate Urban Meyer officially until today. Stealing our boy Trattou. Just wonderful. |
His loss, he'll ride the pine for a few yrs at UF but good luck to him anyway. |
looks like the surprise is a big clusterf^^*&& by Urban Lier stealing Trattou. I hate recruiting. We better score a lot of points with these backs. |
Did anyone read the article on clausen or allen on cnnsi? THe allen guy seems like a great person not just a great athlete. They also list him at about 192 and in the picture he looks pretty developed for an 18 y/o. His build reminds me of Walker... walker with legit. 4.3 speed... wow. |
I've seen it mentioned before that Urban said he would not consider recruiting a player who had verbally committed to another team because he considered it morally wrong. |
Chris: I guess we know the answer to that question!! |
I'm talking about whether he actually said it, not whether he in fact does it. |
Notre Dame fine arts students will have big fun in the stands for the next four years, playing the 'Same Name Game', contrasting the bruising running of young Robert Hughes with the brawny, take no prisoners style of criticism given us by the renowned Australian art critic who shares his name. |
Can Robert Hughes please tell Martez Wilson about starting on the D-Line at N.D. next year now that Trattou has decided to instead ride the pine at Florida along with the six other D-Line recruits Urban Lier hauled in... |
