Isn't it Weis'? not Weis's...

OK

"By convention, however, certain proper nouns ending in s form the possessive by adding just the apostrophe since adding -’s would make the pronunciation difficult or awkward: Jesus’ teachings, Moses’ children, Achilles’ heel Hercules’ strength, Ramses’ reign, Xerxes’ conquest."

kinda off-topic but this is from Pat Forde's column on the NFL combine:

"One reporter eyed Notre Dame offensive tackle Ryan Harris (6-4½, 305) skeptically and wondered whether he was big enough to be an NFL tackle. I loved Harris' answer.

"I can't say anything about that," Harris said. "I am my height, and I am my current weight. I think there's a lot to be said for how you play as opposed to how you look."

I served on the editorial board of a law journal and we would have put 'Weis's.'

BCND... and all those others who correct gramatical errors in the comments section... Who cares! The meat of the articles are great and the writers take their own personal time to research and write these articles. If you have a comment on grammer, spelling, etc. why don't you email them directly instead of pointing it out for the world to see.

When they start charging, then we can complain about the errors.

Please don't take the tone of my comments as aggressive. I know they come across this way, but I couldn't think of a more simple way to put it.

Isn't Prister the guy largely blamed for Greg Little being scared by a position change from WR to OLB - hence his decision to go to North Carolina?

I do understand the new defense better after reading this article. Charlie referred to a "Mike linebacker". What is that?

Can someone explain the subtleties of blitzing? For instance, what are the advantages in certain situations of blitzing an ILB vs. using a S or blitzing an OLB vs. a CB? Does it depend on the down, yardage, field position, etc. How can the offense figure out where the blitz is coming from other than the defensive lineup or the pre-snap movement?

Thanks a lot

Mike = Middle linebacker

The subtleties of blitzing as you call it comes from the opponent not knowing when/where it's coming from and generating pressure. That's really all there is to it. It's up to the defensive coordinator to figure out the nuts and bolts of how to make it work.

rbingham'97,

I'm with you. Enough with this nitpicking. These guys are doing FANTASTIC work, and they're doing it without the benefit of a copy desk.

If you've got such a bad case of OCD that you simply MUST mention this crap, send the boys an email (the link's in the top right of the home page.)

Once again BGS boys: Thanks for the effort. This is the best place for info about ND football. Bar none. As far as typos and grammatical blips go, they're far fewer than I see in th NY Daily News every day. No joke.

For the record, I don't mind the spelling and/or grammar corrections. Whatever helps to make me a better writer is fine with me.

One of my biggest beefs with the media is when they ask stupid or asinine questions. I thought Tim Prister did a good job of asking thoughtful, insightful questions. Thanks for posting the links, Jay!
