Murphy may or may not be a tougher fight for Zbikowski, but let's not give him too much grief. Remember, both Murphy and Zbikowski will be fighting for charity.

Pat,

I would be every interested in a post about "the wrinkles" in last year's defense. I know we often looked confused, but I can't remember how that compared to Minter's first year, other than that we had fewer linebackers last year. It would be great to see some analysis on that.

JM - I might look into it, but it will be sort of hard to quantify anything. We (at least I) don't know what Zibby's responsibilities were supposed to be, and often times the alignment of the secondary is cut off in the tight TV angle.

But I do know that recently I rewatched the 1st half of the Georgia Tech game and GT threw to Zibby's side of the field maybe once the entire half. So was Zibby just unproductive, or did teams avoid Zibby and pick on Nedu. Was Zibby told to stop the run more and leave the corners in more one-on-one situations, or was that just what he did. It's a hard thing to nail down with any accuracy given our (my) lack of knowledge of what he was supposed to be doing.

Oh, and I'm not picking on Kevin Murphy, but I doubt they are going to pick a strong opponent for a charity event in South Bend. To be sure it's a great move on his part to fight for charity.

Murphy better learn from the past and wear something other than an LSU jersey. Although it sure was great to see Zibby kick the crap out of that guy in the OSU jersey.
