Thanks!

Lots of little things going on with the team, thanks for the concise summary!

Should the blog be called "Pat's blue-gray sky?" Good work keeping it up along man, cheers!

I've yet to understand why Willingham's compensation is not taken out of White's paycheck.

Is there any situation in which Crist plays this year? What's the BGS take? I say barring catastrophic injury, no. However, will he wear #3?? On the subject anyone know what jersey's the bookstore is selling? Any way I get my Bruton jersey?

Crist will certainly be deep down the depth chart. Clausen is the man, Evan is #2 and then it gets interesting. Let's not forget the walk-on with famous last name. I believe he may get jersey number 3. Crist is gonna be money but no need to spend it too soon.

Love the UHF reference

I hope Sharpley does decide to skip football. He was horrible last year, plain and simple. He should be nowhere near the sideline, shouldn't even be an option for Weis if Clausen doesn't fire on all cylinders right away. I'd rather take my licks with Clausen and Crist than throw Sharpley's deer-in-the-headlights retardation on the field.

WyoMike,

Thanks for making the rest of us feel smart by comparison without even having to do anything.

The latest ND commit -- Carlo Calabrese, LB from NJ. Story here https://secure.rivals.com/barrier...&tid=&mid=& rid=

adding to Eddie's post, here's the new commit on scout.com.... http://notredame.scout.com/a.z?s...nid=704& yr=2009

WyoMike....Sharpley did just fine. If you are comparing him to Brady Quinn I can see why you stress, even though I think you still exaggerate. Sharpley is a gifted athlete, but I think he's reached his roof in football...he was definitely made for baseball. He may not be the most gifted QB on the team, but last year, he was the most knowledgeable at the position and he worked with what he had (horrible offensive line which led to bad running, having to pass a bunch, hence easy play-calling for the opposing defense). Anyways, it's great you can opinion because you must have obviously been part of the football team and overheard coach discussions to be able to make that affirmation (sarcasm). Judge what you want after taking into consideration everything that we as fans saw on the field : a bad, predictable, slow offense. Considering that, Sharpley did what he could with what he had. I bet that if you give him a higher quality (or better prepared receiving corps) with a decent o-line and that same Sharpley is drawing praise. That being said, let's see what Clausen can do this year, and let's stay optimistic. Thanks for your insightful input...it's always good to have an expert talk about why players shouldn't be on the team.

New Commit to the Irish!

Carlo Calabrese seems like a good player. One thing I noticed is that he was pretty versatile by playing D, returning punts and he was the teams kicker. Scouts did not say anything about FGs but did say he did not miss any PATs.

Carlo Calabrese...what a great name! I love that the kid chose Weis and ND over the Chinless Bee-yotch. Jersey has really become fertile recruiting ground. Also, he announces his decision to attend ND on his mother's birthday, so that pretty much guarantees that there'll be no wishy-washiness. Also, if the Chinless Scrote tries to induce such change, I hope that the Calabrese Family perceives such tampering as a PERSONAL afront and then makes him an offer he can't refuse.

Well said Voice!

The Chinless Bee-yotch and the Chinless Scrote...is this a family lacking common anatomical features or the same unfortunate bloke? :-)

IndyEsq

Great post. Seriously, I had some excellent thoughts, but you really said it best.

Why-o-Mike

As good as Crist may become, I'd rather have Sharpley covering Jimmy C's back.
He knows the offense and the personnel.
When he was in the game, he demonstrated
quicker decision making. If we need him, Sharpley will do just fine!

On the Arizona State game, just a reminder that it is in addition to the home and home that ND already had scheduled with the Sun Devils.
