Of course it never happened! I’m taking that fact to my grave.

I wish I had all that extra time on my hands, just like the lads over at The House That Rock Built. Well Done.

Go IRISH. Stop the Option.

Hey! How did I become that dreaded "Anonymous"?

it's true '07 never happened...i blacked out after the game.

GO IRISH!!!

Brilliantly done.

I just had to watch it again. I love it. Especially "Delete the Wikipedia page..."

Go Irish!

Hilarious.

That's brilliant. A flagon of ale to The House Rock Built guys!

tears in my eyes from laughter and the memory of '07 that this rekindled.

I could watch puppets sing about Notre Dame football all day. :)

Two things:

Kick the f---ing field goal and;

Boy does that puppet look like Weis...

HTRB deserves to win some kind of web blog award. The puppets are brilliant.

Silver, of course, after BGS.

(@Bo - it really does.)

I still doubt that OhioState could beat navy for 43 years in a row. I will never forget that 2007 game. It took triple overtime for the mids to beat a 3-7 Notredame team it was a hard fought game. That image of the navy linebacker jumping like super man to kill sharpley is crazy. Still we had shot to win and travis thomas showed ND Nation why he still to this day is nowhere to befound.
I use to have a saying before that game, I wasn't alive when navy beat us and I won't be alive when they do. Well now my saying will be to my grandkids I remeber back in 07 when those guys got us. LOLOL GO IRISH SINK NAVY!!!!

Did you catch the reference to Lou; referring to Navy as "The University of Navy".

I love it!

maybe everything's not perfect, but it is kind of cool that we can look back on '07, and a dark day in history, and laugh now. Thanks!

CW looks a bit nauseated with the whole thing...

Boy, I wish I had that kind of time on my hands.. hilarious..

Every body thinks we should have kicked the fieldgoal. walker sucks he would have missed.

Hello Lads!
I will be there again this weekend, cheering loudly ... but not jeering at all.
ND should win - and perhaps handily. However, I hope we play differently this weekend. Dominant, but respectful. Focused yet mindful of our "competition." Execute a smart game plan, win, and shake hands.
Please, no taunting after a hit. No posturing after a nice catch or TD. Cut out the ridiculous personal fouls in an attempt to prove you are “nasty.”
Score and score often -- but put the ball down and head back to the sideline.
Show me you understand whom we are matched to play at this time in world affairs. You can still be electric and have highlight reels from this game, you just don't have to be pricks along the way.
Hopefully, no gangster rap prior to the kickoff talking about bodies everywhere and that “something’s gotta give.” If you need to play that junk 30 minutes prior to any ND football game to get psyched, then you don’t get it. If you play it before a service academy game, you are idiots.
Let’s win. Let’s win convincingly. Let’s win with class and deference.
GO IRISH!

'07. What's that? Sounds Canadian.

Feel the temporary need to defend my generation here to FWMF--the song in question is a rock song, not even rap, much less gangsta rap. If you can't even tell the difference between the genres it may be time to chalk it up to these guys on the field being a different generation and you not 'getting it' and let it go. It's not 'unclassy'.

Every team at every sporting event at every level I've ever attended plays some 'pump-up' music while warming up. I'm not trying to take a dig at what I'm perhaps incorrectly assuming is your age, but you just sounded out of touch to me and that comment got on my nerves.

Not saying anything about the game itself because I don't think I need to; I'm not worried. Maybe I should be wary, but I'm not. Maybe it's the return of Saint Floyd.

RE: the clip, hilarious. I've never heard of that site before and just caught up on all their little productions, they're all pretty great. The USC loss depression clip with Jimmy painting a sad face with a football whiffing past was excellent. The one for the San Antonio trip with Tate getting stopped by Homeland Security at the airport was incredibly funny.

'Football! For making touchdowns!'
'Playbook! Full of touchdowns!'

GO IRISH! PLAY TOUCHDOWNS!

Our Father Who Art in Heaven...

Please not another 2007!

(great t-shirt)

You probably deleted your browser history, so the wife wouldn't see the porn. Then you assumed it was there and posted the comment....happens to me all the time!

Plutonium! So now we know the secret of Tate's success.

Super leaps, tacklers bounce off of you -- time to have others on the team try a little of that green stuff -- if TSA has confiscated all of it.

Oops, meant to say, ' -- if TSA HASN'T confiscated all of it."

Muppet Golden Tate is my hero.

....and stay off FMWF's lawn! You dern kids!!

Nate -- Hope you have had a good week in Herat. With so much to see in that 2,700 year-old city -- especially the Citadel of Alexander and the old hill fort -- have you had a chance to collate the intell, and find out what's word around Herat about the University of Navy?

Navy -- just what do they think of such in Afghanistan anyway? Not like there are any ports for midshipmen to frequent and get into barroom brawls in. (Tough to find barroom brawls anywhere in Afghan cities for that matter.) Still, in a cultured city of almost 400,000, there must be some take on the Navy.

(And I can just imagine the raucous laughs on various ships when fresh-faced Navy plebes are tasked with plotting navigation to the nearest Afghan ports and they come back several hours later stumped by the task.)

Go Irish, scuttle the Navy!

This video made my day. Go Irish!

temple beat navy at navy, just to put things in perspective. temple.

If you take out the part about the song before the game, I definitely agree with everything else FWMF said:

Agree with the respect for the U. of Navy. I remember the Midshipmen walking the campus before and after games in South Bend - best interaction we ever had with opposing team students.

Intense song - do they really play that during warm-ups? Makes me wonder, though - has music really advanced that much since Fear sang "Let's Have a War" in what, '83?

It's been awhile since I've posted any comments. This is a little off topic, but there's a great article / interview with Rocket on the SB Tribune site:

http://southbendtribune.com/arti...900/1001/ Sports

It's worth a read (it's a quick read) and really alings with my view on community both as a whole and within ND.

Mike 81

Same interactions with the Middies in the early 70s.

Navy away uniforms were virtually identical to ours in those days....making it even harder to root against them.

rbignham -- nice interview with the Rocket -- thanks for the post!

I love his contentedness. A man who should have won the Heisman (was runner-up), and who was robbed of the amazing, game-winning return in the NC game.

Rocket didn't dwell on that, but rather the positives -- excellent attitude! God Bless you!

Jim:
Congrats in Jersey!

O/t but any support for getting rid of the BCS at-large spots?

There are 10 spots that ought to be for the best 10 teams. So how about the BCS conference losers paying for the BCS conference winners autobids?

After the national title game teams:

priority 1: non-AQ and independent top 10
priority 2: BCS conference winners (in order of team rank)
priority 3: remaining teams (in order of rank)

Bottom line: No at-larges for anyone, but #9 or #10 ND gets an autobid. Better than the current "privileged" #8 ND autobid rule.

E.g. if ND, BSU, TCU are all top 10 the BCS conference winners and the best BCS loser are in. The 2nd best BCS can start whining about the worst BCS winner!

If ND, BSU, TCU, Utah, and BYU are top 10 then the worst BCS winner is out of luck and can start whining for a 12 team playoff system!

A step in the right direction?

Belocki -- the Temple loss caught my attention as well. Then I looked at Navy's season as a whole.

Navy's QB was hurt for Temple, which is likely why they lost. Temple, while playing no one in the MAC, is 7-2. Not your usual Temple 0-12 team.

Navy took OSU down to the wire AT OSU.
They beat Wake and played a tough game against Pitt.

We should win by 2-3 TDS, but we should have beaten many teams this year by larger margins that we did.

In the end, just WIN. Period. I don't care how "bad" the opponent is. WIN.

Great article in the SBT about Rocket. Thanks for sharing. Did you catch what Rocket said about Tate?

He said:

"I wish I would have had his after-the-catch running instinct. He has a nose for getting that ball in the end zone. That's what I love about him."

Wow! Rocket wishes he had Tate's after-the-catch running instinct! Now THAT's some high praise.

Zed

3 visitors on line? Its 2pm on Fri. Time to start revving up.
I think the D is going to have a breakout game-maybe even shut out Navy. In theory, this is what this defence was put together for-speed on the perimeters plus aggressive lb play. Meanwhile Jimmy will go deep at least once to Floyd, and 2 td for Golden= 38-0 (10?)

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say ....

ND - 93
UN - 17

GO IRISH!!!

BEAT... MIDDIES?!!!

first play: floyd on a go route down the sideline for a touchdown!!! Go IRISH

tacoma, good idea. Here's a question (the stuff of nightmares). You're a team that can't get any pressure on the QB, such as Navy. You've got Floyd wide right and Tate wide left. They're streaking down the sidelines. Who's left to cover Rudolph running the skinny post and Hughes circling around out of the backfield (or Riddick on a pitch) while Kamara runs a 10-yard underneath out-route. The only way that play can be stopped is quick penetration by your front 4, which ain't coming from the Middies. Lookout!

So Dayne Crist is out for the season. I don't see why they can't let him use the Hyper-Healing Chamber now that Michael Floyd is done with it. Crist could be ready by late December.

Don't forget to google "Our Lady Queen of Class" an article by Tom Cutler , a retired Lt. Commander USN.

It was in Notre Dame Magazine in 06.

{ Wish I knew how to cut and paste}

Erik, isn't that what got Fauria in trouble?

i was thankful the the "streak" ended when it did; i a year that was completely meaningless & forgetable for the irish

Never liked Navy. I remember some Middies being on campus during the 80's when I was youngster (10 years old) and they gave me a bad impression. They had a
cavalier 'n' cocky "we made into a service academy and now we are on weekend pass" attitude. No reason to give their football team any more respect than BC, MSU.
