Wow. Anybody have an idea when the last time ND got a RB this highly rated? Was it all the way back to Ricky Watters?

Can't wait for this kid to get on the field.....anywhere.

anybody else notice he averaged over 40 yards per punt? i hope weis uses him to punt occasionally so we can pull of a good fake.

This kid is ridiculous and it is an amazing catch. I think he'll contribute immediately at RB, and I see him as a very nice complement to Robert Hughes. Any news on if he'll enroll early?

All I can say is "Wow".

I think Ciera sounds like a guy who will definitely be a serious student-athlete. He is going to have to really manage his time well if he goes with engineering.

However, I was a bit annoyed by the fact that USC already has 5 commits off the Rivals 100 and tOSU has 6 commits. (I did notice that ALL of USC's commits are from CA which makes a difference. Of OSUs - 4 OH, 1 KY, 1 PA.)

How are they able to close so early on these kids?

Anyways, I am very pleased for Ciera and ND.

Wow...give him a couple years to season then he could play. But right now I think we have a great group of backs.

Great get....Keep them coming. Go Irish.

Give the guy a break.

Apparently there is continued recruiting mo' and we could see another commit or two in the next 4 weeks or so. If we manage to win 8+ games this year, look out 4th consecutive top ten class! These kids reach anywhere close to their potential and we be back to our rightful place - one foot firmly planted on Michigan's throat and the other on SC's groin.

Thanks Thundershaker. That last comment made my week.

LOL @ Thundershaker.

+1 to you, sir.

This kid is the real deal. He'll be an amazing addition to the recruiting class, and he's probably going to be the gem of the crown. Like it said, he'll be comparable to Clausen and Crist in terms of talent he brings to this class; i think his physical attributes will translate well into the college game. too often, as may be the case with armando allen, small high school athletes who perform exceptionally in high school don't make the cut in college. i think cierre wood will be a different story. nonetheless, armando still has plenty of time to develop.

Wow, have you seen the Cierre's defensive highlights?

He hits like a mack truck movin at 90 mph.

Some of the best HS tackling I've seen to date.

I wonder if CW will let him cover kicks as well as return kicks when he arrives.

And then we get Theo Riddick later this week? This is insane! The recruiting Kool-aid at the Gug must be pretty strong!

But at what point does the recruiting strength translate to on-the-field performance?

His mom accompanied him on the trip out for the Blue-Gold game weekend -- getting the mom on campus is always one of ND's main recruiting goals

This is just hilarious (in a good way)! I love it when Mom comes along and junior makes the right choice.

Best wishes to Wood (and Mom).

hate to rain on everyone's parade, but this kid plays worse quality opponents than clausen did and comes from a lower division than clausen's team-- a lot of these schools recently played 7 man football. he very well may be the real deal... but no one will know until he shows up next year. (remember clausen last year)
