On a semi-related point, I was watching Cal-Air Force when they did a little piece about Forsett(?) the Cal running back. He had been promised an ND Letter of intent and sat by the phone on signing day all day without even a call to explain. The culprit? Tyrone W.
How many other stories are there like these?
On a positive note, I am absolutely convinced that we will be very good next year unless JC melts down.How can we not beat BC Purdue and MSU with all of their graduating seniors.

The talk of another 'top' recruiting class inching ND to the top is nothing more than an a illusive shadow. As we have seen, Talent is never enough. Execution and Discipline are the cornerstones. The Fellas can't step-up unless they are Coached-UP !! Therein lies the schism of the past season. 'Physician' heal thy self.

Walker has already committed to the ND coaches. Whether or not he sticks with it is another story. He apparently has also silently committed to PSU at some point in the process.

Boo on ESPN for their dogged determination to ruin every sport and sporting event in America. And a pox on their house for using their muscle to hurt the U.S. Army's effort in San Antonio. Maybe one of the military's errant smart bombs with a learning disorder (possibly matriculated at Michigan State) could "accidentally" buzz the Bristol, CT area in an effort to convince the Godless, soulless geniuses at ESPN that it really is a grave mistake to go to war AGAINST the United States Army.

Interesting read in Gray's diary. He mentions Kenny Tate has always liked ND but he hasn't received an offer. He's a big receiver that would be a nice addition. Also an interesting note that Gray says Goodman is fast, unbelievably fast. That makes me feel better.

for every hater, or maybe every third one, there's a kid like the 9 year old I saw down at the state museum kids' new years event tonight with my family. He had on a browns jersey with QUINN on the back, and a shammy hat. Takes some guts to wear that uni during bowl season, and I tipped my hat to him. He may have thought I was a child molester though, because I had a snidely whiplash handlebar moustache from the facepainting booth.

JD; I don't know about Polian. He was in charge of Sp. teams in '06, not good, by committee in '07, worst if possible.
Anything by committee is bad.
I like Jappy, Bill Lewis, Mike H., Ianello, and I can't wonder what happened to Latina between Ole Miss, offered the OL job by Spurrier, and the debacle of the ND line the past two years.
If there was so much inexperience at the skill positions, why not just play as physically a run game as possible?

I still think CW needs to hire Steve Szabo from Michigan to coach the LBs. He should also make Haywood special teams coach where he is considered one of the best in the country. Charlie could also take over the special teams like Bielima(sp) from Wisconsin. I expect these kids to be coached up this year. Still havent heard anything about CW's analysis of himself and the coaching staff. The talent is there, it needs to be developed.

The shady part about Hunter is that we sucked all year... this didn't just suddenly happen. We didn't get trounced in a bowl game. Hell we won our last two games. And ND has been in South Bend all year long. Why the change now? This isn't a deal where the coaches were fired and you no longer know what's going on.

Ah well. He was my favorite recruit, I'm just a little bitter.

There is a read on scout.com about hunter decommitting, I don't have access, is it official or still just speculation. If you aren't a 100% than don't committ. These are the guys that are going to have 3 wives if they can't make up their mind.

P.S. Watching Florida lose to Michigan was bitter- but SWEET! looking at the faces of florida fans losing is great after how shady Urban Myer has been. Can't wait to play them in a bowl game and kick their Butts. Too bad we had to watch Meechigan win at the same time

all i can say is to hell with omar hunter if he doesnt want to go to notre dame. theres still plenty of awesome recruits that arent goingjump ship because of college being too far from home or whatever b.s excuse he's giving (he's considering usc supposedly even though he's gonna go to florida...isnt usc even FARTHER tha ND?) lol. college is supposed to promote independance among other things, and what better place than independant notre dame?? anyways, one more scholarship is free now for the staff to use and add to the amazing recruit class we have going. i hope we get walker. if we can get one more quality receiver, i think things will REALLY open up offensively. walker, floyd, kamara, tate, goodman, etc. sounds good to me. what you guys think? i dont think omar is as good as advertised anyways....i also think the defense will be much better that this year, strange feeling i have...the system will be better known and there will be more athleticism. bruton is going to have a monster year, i think ian williams is going to have a great year also, and the o'line will be greatly improved.

I heard that O. Hunter is being tempted by the Florida staff. However, I also heard that his roommate down at the Under-Wear All American Bowl is Mishawaka's own Braxston Cave. So, maybe, if we keep all our fingers crossed, Braxston can lay on some sweet talking to get him to re-commit.
