Impressive list so far, the future looks bright. Welcome to the family, E.J.! |

Possible future punt returner as well? |

"Banks has an extremely impressive offer list that includes finalist Ohio State as well as LSU, Georgia, Florida State, Nebraska, Tennessee, Miami, Clemson, Pitt, Virginia Tech, and many others. It's usually a good sign when teams from the SEC look north for skill position players and that is the case with Banks." |

Our recruiting commitment list really suprises me this year as it seems everyone we are picking up is a straight quality committ. Usually, in recruiting, you have at least a couple of guys that are at least give the label of being 'project' players, or guys who will need time to 'develop'. I don't really see any of that in this class so far, which is suprising. |
I am a bit surprised by the rankings of our players, as we don't have any top 20 players as has been a staple of Weis's classes (although I realize the difference between 23 and 20 is pretty arbitrary). I know people have mentioned we filled out most of the class. Do we have any other highly rated offers that are leaning our way? |

With quality depth, comes scary. Lambent future, hasten thee. |

That's also the lowest I've seen Cierre Wood ranked. I think an argument could easily be made for him being the best prospect in the country. |
Wow. Dan Fox is WAY underrated. Either that or ESPN knows how to judge talent better than Tenuta. Hmmm . . . . . |
Pitt fans are talking about the possibility of Darrin Walls enrolling there instead of returning to ND. Anyone else heard this, and do you know if there's any truth to the rumor? |
I've heard nothing to that effect. In fact, Raeshon McNeil was just quoted as saying that he talks to him everyday and that he is coming back for sure. I'm sure Pitt fans would love to think that Walls is coming on board, but it isn't happening. |

I'm not concerned about rankings. Isn't the big knock on these recruiting sites that they bump someone up in the rankings if they think a player is being looked at by top-tier schools? Looks like almost everyone we've had this year is being recruited by the best. Personally I'm more excited to think ND can sign recruits who are also being persued by Ohio State, Florida, etc. As an earlier poster noted, who are we going to rely on more, John Tenuta's opinion or someone from scout.com. I'll leave it up to our great coaching staff to determine which players fit the needs and criteria of the Notre Dame football team. |
I never placed much faith in Scout/Rivals/ESPN ratings. They are totally subjective. A 3-star who meshes well with a system is far better than a 5-star prima donna, in my opinion. |
I was at the game that was the first clip on that video. Banks is a terrific player. |
Concerning Rivals/Scout/ESPN, we've also seen numerous examples of athletes rated widely differently by the different services. Oftentimes, it seems to have a lot to do with which All-American game they're playing in, since each is affiliated with a different service. Lame, but that's what recruiting is turning into. |
